Senegal embassy requires police certificates and processes several countries.
My question is where do I find a site that has a current and updated list of the countries
where police certificates are not available ?

My fiance and I have gotten conflicting answers. One police chief told him yes he will
issue him one, another said they are not available in Sierra Leone. I have seen a list somewhere
that states no availability and " do not try to attempt " to get one.
I am totally confused.
Our case number has not been issued from NVC yet and I emailed the embassy but have had no reply
yet.
We assumed we would have no problem with it since the 1. police chief said ok no problem, now he
is no longer in office and the new one said it is not possible.
We are weeks away from the interview and now still don't have an answer to this.
Can anybody help ? unsure.gif

kitkat,

That list has at least 1 error on it, it looks like the list from about 5 years ago.

I went to the web site that Yodrak reccomended and looked up the country of Moldova. Here is what it said regarding police certificates:

"Available. If someone wishes to emigrate from Moldova, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will run a criminal check on that person (at their request) and report the results. This official report will list whether the person in question is currently involved in a criminal process and if they have any prior convictions in Moldova."

My question is, it says they are available for Moldovian citizens who wish to emmigrate. Can I assume then that due to it being silent, that they are not available for foreign nationals who may have resided there for a period of time? I hate to assume things but I do not want to send my fiancee' on a wild goose chase. She is a foreign national (Ukrainian) who went to school for several years in Moldova.

Anyone think my assumption is valid? I have sent an e-mail to the consulate in Kiev but they indicated up to 5 days to respond and so I am simply in the "que" for a reply from them.

You should write the US consulate. They were the ones who told me where and how I could get my Police Certificate from The Netherlands. Sometimes (as in my case) they ask for it themselves.

Idid email the consulate twice but no response. The problem is that he lives in Siera Leone
and has to fly out to the embassy in Senegal for the interview.
He has to travel all day to another city to buy a special phone card in order to
be able to phone in an appointment when we get our case number.!!!
It will take too long to get the police certificate at that time.
I hope that the provided info I received here is not from an outdated list
and that the certificate will not be available in his country.
Thanks everyone.
