What seems to be the average wait between interview and visa in hand for Casa? Has anyone ever gotten visa in hand on the same day as the interview?
noura
i don't think there is an "average" in casa... every case is sooo different and each AP/AR is equally different w/ no rhyme or reason. you can search petitions from Casa and take a look for yourself. it's sad really sad.gif

I did see someone on the timelines that interviewed and got thier visa the next day. I think that was back in June of this year. Farid and I are on day 12 and still no Visa in hand...but I'm very sure tomorrow is the day!!!!

I know there have been a few who haven't gotten the 221g, I know honeyblonde was one. My husband's AP lasted for about 2 weeks.

You're right, but we were't the only one. Last year during Ramadan it was sortof the norm. About 6 other people interviewed the same day as Abdel and all of them were told to come back the next Monday for their visas (they interviewed on a Thursday). All of their passports were kept after the interviews. There was some confusion with Abdel's visa when he went back Monday (they said they couldn't find it and tried to say they hadn't told him to come back Monday) but they managed to find it Tuesday (with an "encouraging" e-mail from me) and Abdel dropping by to "see if it was ready yet before he got on the train back to Taza". Appletree's husband was one that interviewed that day and got his visa instantly too, and that was a marriage visa, not a fiancee one.

OOH, for whoever was asking about rescheduling, Appletree35 was one that did. You can search on her name and see her timeline.

I agree, the search results were pretty discouraging. However you are pretty encouraging smile.gif Congrats on your successful interview!

Yeah I agree and I don't think there is any way to tell... I was pretty bummed that Hicham got the 221g and I was freaking out. I think I called DOS 3 times a day to try to get a consistent answer as to if the checks were done or pending. Finally I got "cleared" on July 3rd, then on July 6th they issued the Visa and his interview was June 27th. I think the 4th of July had something to do with it not being issued right after he was cleared but who knows and who cares!

Like they have all said, everyone is different. My fiance at the time, had to wait 1 week. There was one person that I know of that received their visa the same day when we were going through this. I don't think there really is a norm any longer. Regardless, good luck on your journey.

I was the one asking about rescheduling. The reason I stressed is because Appletree35 had a rough time getting that second interview. Her interview was intially scheduled before ours in Aug of 05. I don't think she go the second interview for a couple of months later.

As far as the wait time...as everyone said it varies greatly. Getting the 221g for security checks is quite common, so I would NEVER expect to be approved the same day. I would rather expect that I get the 221g, and if I didn't then it would be a happy little surprise.

The interesting thing is that back about a year ago they did give visas the same day for those that got approved without additional security checks. Shortly after that they changed, and you need to go back the following day.
