Hello,

My I-130 has just been approved and need more information on the NVC process and the Embassy process. I was married in the Gambia, but I understand from some that Banjul does not process immigrnat visas. Is this so? if not how can I make NVC send my case to Banjul instead of Dakar.

Also on average, how long does it take from the NVC to the embassy. Any additional info will be highly appreciated.

I have the same consular in Senegal. NVC will know where your country's designatd
consular is and forward it, allthough it has happened before that they send it to the wrong embassy.
Keep an eye on them and send them an email about a week after it leaves CSC.
Senegal has a short wait time, 2-4 weeks but some things about that place already
make me crazy. From what I hear your SO will need a special prepaid phone card
to make an appointment that can only be purchased by certain vendors there in Dakar.
My fiance lives in Sierra Leone and I am trying to find out how he can purchase this
stupid card when he des not even live there.

My husband was just processed through Gambia. I was told also that he had to go through Dakar, but I sent an email to NVC to let them know that we were married in Gambia and all of you records were there and they sent his file to Gambia.

Only certain visa's are issued in certain countries, I can't find the link right now but double check
it and don't assume anything, make sure the Gambia processes K3 visas. Go to the state.gov web site
and see which visas are done there to be sure , some consulars only issue NI visas.

TPC,

Do you mind running me through what you did? Was your case an I-130 or I-129F? Would you mind e-mailing me with the details of what you had to present and what your husband had to do. I know this may be a little too much, but I am a layman in this case and any infromation will be highly appreciated. My e-mail is omar.kebbeh@ncmail.net.

Thanks again
