Full Version: Wrong case number from NVC?

Hi all,i got a very confused question here: our case number assigned by NVC started by LND2006******.as i heard someone mentioned here before,this number suppose to start by my consulate letter which is GZ**********,why our number is start by LND2006****** now? My last address is london ,as i used to live there for many years... helpsmilie.gif helpsmilie.gif Does anyone know what should i do now? Many thanks!

My understanding is that the embassy/consulate was decided on where the marriage happened.
Hopefully others with better information will add to this.

Thanks for your reply,but we married at china somehow,then he been visited me many times at london after i backed to london. Do u think NVC made a mistake on our case number?Anyone have the same situation?thank u

You answered your question partly, you stated that your last address is London so that is were they would send the petition and plan on interviewing you, not Guangzhou China. The consulate letter may have a GZ number due to their doing a name check in China.

The question is where would it be more convenient for you to interview, London or Guangzhou? If you are now in China then contact the London office and see if they can transfer the case to Guangzhou.

Hi YuAnddan,thank u for ur reply,i am in china right now,i would say to have a interview at GZ will be easier for me ,i can not contact london office yet as the Cr1 case is still at NVC now.(waitting to generate DS3032 and AOS fee bill.. )

Sometimes these address changes take time, so don't waste a moment. They send the interview letter to that address, and from what I understand you will need that anyway to get into whatever consulate they send it too. I would make sure to do the address change at both the Department of Homeland Securities and Department of State.
