Ok,
So packet 3 finally arrived here today (was sent from my aunt) and I am just about ready to send back the DS230 and the checklist, but I have two questions. WARNING - they sound stupid even to me, lol... but just want to make sure I'm ok.

On the checklist, you are supposed to sign that you have completed all the requirements. Ok.. so far that's clear. However, for the Medical Examination - how am I supposed to check that I have arranged for an examination if I need the appointment letter to do so? And how can I get the appointment letter if I don't check this box??? AARRGGHH!!

For the Evidence of Support. All supporting documents are being gathered and the form is ready to be signed, but is not notarized yet. Will they care that the notarized date may be later than the date I signed the checklist? OR... is it more advisable to simply wait until the I-134 is notarized?

Hope I'm being clear. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mo

You don't need an appointment letter in order to book a medical examination for a K-1 visa because you need to complete your checklist before getting the interview date and you need the medical done before you send your checklist. Well, technically that's what's supposed to happen. You shouldn't have any problems without a letter. Just let them know when you're booking it that you don't have one because you've applied for a K-1 fiance visa. wink.gif

I don't know what to tell you in regards to the evidance of support. Perhaps someone else will be able to help you there.

Good luck.

Ours I-134 was notarized the day before the interview. They just want to make sure it's notarized I don't think they care of the date as long as it's not from last year or something.
As for the medical all you need is the cover letter of package three and your MTL # for the appt.
Good Luck !!!!!!

1. You don't need the appointment letter to take to the medical. You need the letter received in Packet 3 to take to the medical.

2. They will not care that the notarized date is later than the date on the signed checklist. All they want is for you to bring everything they request on the checklist to the interview.

Good luck!

We're waiting for the letter inviting us to the K3 interview in Montreal. As soon as it comes, we'll book the medical. I figure we'll have a 6-week window ... plenty of time for the medical and notarizing the I-134. Yes, the checklist states you should have everything done before sending it, but no one does. Especially since there could be a 3 or 4 month wait for an interview once they get the checklist.

I didn't even need the letter from packet 3, the receptionist said "You are paying for it, what do we care?". They are not very busy in Halifax, I could have gone in the next day!

Each doctor has different requirements, some need the packet 3 letter, some don't. Just call ahead and ask what will be required for your medical, and get prepared. smile.gif
