I have heard that the wait for a police certificate in the Netherlands is up to 8 weeks. Does anyone have any information or insight on this? I know that each country will vary....... but 8 weeks?

Approximately four weeks are required to obtain the certificate from The Netherlands Government, provided there is no derogatory information concerning the applicant. In cases where there is derogatory information it will take up to two months before the record is received at the Consulate General in Amsterdam.

when we applied for K1 in June of 2005, Tobe did not have to do anything at all for the police certificate... the embassy handles all of that... the police certificate is sent directly to the embassy... the applicant never sees it
