I applied for my fiance to come to the USA from the DR. My case has been approved to go for an interview so I keep checking the interview dates on the web and it looks like our case should be one of the first on the list next mouth but, it does not go in order of the case number. Why is this? Does anyone understand what I'm asking. Help I miss him so much.

I was under the impression that it takes more than a year for an interview in the DR. You may want to repost with a subject line regarding the timing of K1 interviews in DR - you're more likely to get an accurate response from someone who knows. Also, read here:

Holly,
I am sooooo sorry to be the bearer of bad news ...... but your estimated wait for an interview will be approximately 24 months from the time that your file arrives at the Consulate in the Dominican Republic.
According to your timeline, you received your NOA2 in August .... of this year. So, it's quite likely that you will be on the new waiting list that is scheduled to be posted on October 2nd or 3rd.
This is the link to the waiting list and the appointement list:
http://www.usemb.gov.do/Consular/iv-e.htm
Both files are in a PDF format, so to find your place on the 500+ page list just use the "search" function (enter your case number that was assigned by NVC).

And if you'd like more information specific to Americans bringing their spouses or fiances to the US from the the Dominican Republic you can check out this Website: dominicanstotheusa.com

Good luck!!!

I just wanted to say that I'm really sorry to hear about the long wait in the Dominican Republic.
