Hi!

Got the great news that our petition has been sent to the embassy via email from the NVC. Now I'm wondering what "Your Priority Date" means. The date they list is not our NOA1 date. It's actually about a week before our NOA1 date.

Case Number: ACCxxxxxxxxxx
Beneficiary's Name: xxx
Preference Category: K1
Your Priority Date: 13Jul2006
Foreign State Chargeability: GHANA

What does that date mean?

Thanks for any help!

Firstly go back to the NOA1...

NOA1 will have both a 'received/receipt date' and a 'notice date'

NOA1 received/receipt date, is the date that your petition is stamped as received.

NOA1 notice date, is the date that the notice is generated/issued.

The priorty date is the received/receipt date of your petition. The only meaning the priority date has for fiance/spousal petitions of a USC is that it is the date by which processing times of a petition are determined. Hope that made sense to you.

Aw ... congrats! Our approval date is 9/15, so I really hope that ours were in the same batch!!! May God bless you with a speedy road to your interview. Cheers!
