I lived there for 2 years yet don't know many married folks so I ask you...

We are getting married in Florida. My fiance's best man needs a new suit, right? A white one, to be exact (HOT). My fiance feels like he supposed to pay for it since his best man is paying to come to Florida, etc & I said no.

Who's right?

Rent it.

You pay

If he wants to buy one, he pays.

We paid for the rental of all the groomsmen's tux for our wedding, which was in the US. But half the groomsmen were from my family.

Our wedding was in the UK; we paid for all suit rentals. We also paid for the bridesmaids' dresses. I don't know if that's the 'done' thing or not.

I'm so mad he feels like he has to buy a suit, not hire one. He says a hired one never fits well enough. That's throwing away 600 quid for 2 suits!!!

damnit.

I guess you have to choose your battles, I would say rent it, we are renting all our grooms mens tux's, but the bridesmaids are buying thier dresses. Ya the tux does not fit that well for a few hours on the wedding day, but will he ever wear it again if you buy it for him?
Welshcookie
I would rent it good.gif

Actually I think he would. He wanted to buy a white suit last year. He's going to London to get them next weekend, I'm hoping he can talk the guy down to 200 each.

Update:

His best man who he's known since he was little, just informed J he can't afford to come over(after telling J yes a month ago) . Or if he could, he'd need J's help. J is already buying the guy's suit. And this guy is moving to a new house, not like he's broke! J is pissed as am I. His other friend who he'd shoulda asked first - and who is coming will be the new best man. Annoying........
