Just thought I would ask this.... because I am amazed that USCIS dont send out mail like EAD & Greencards where you have to sign for delivery.... Would be much safer and both parties would know it had got there...

I for one would have willingly paid extra to have had all mail send this way.....

Yes, I would (for all mail).

US mail is pretty reliable. I'd say no.
VJ Troll
Hell yes. I'd pay even more if all USCIS mail was sent via UPS/Fedex. I'd pay even more, up to a point, for my applications/petitions to get "prioritized" over others smile.gif
Mand
I'd pay an arm and a leg...and would pay two arms and two legs for a USCIS officer to drive to my house and hand deliver our mail biggrin.gif

An arm and a leg is a bit much. I'd give a liver though, don't we have two of those and only really need one?

To be honest, with the amount they're charging for all of these pieces of paperwork, and how important they are to us, I'd expect them to be hand-delivered to the door!
But yes, if it was an option I'd pay extra to have the actual cards sent by courier - since they lost my AP someplace and the money was wasted because there was no way to prove that it was somebody else's fault and not mine sad.gif

If you have two livers you could make yourself a small fortune! No........we only have one! Mind you... (today's piece of useless information) you can have 90% of your liver removed and it will regenerate itself, so you could give the USCIS a percentage of it!!! lol

Considering how cheap Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation is (less than $5), I'd gladly throw in an extra fiver to make sure I got whatever it was supposed to be! wacko.gif

I voted NO because I feel that they charge enough in fees as it is, and in fees a lot of the time that they really shouldn't have (just because they can't get paperwork processed in time, many have to apply for additional EAD's, AP, etc).

This is a "service" for which we are already paying and getting the documents to us should be part of that "service".

Fair enough, but the addition of a "fee" for express mailing or expedited service would turn it into a competitive service and I'd want a leg up on the competition if that happened smile.gif
KarenCee
I would gladly pay extra...regardless of how reliable the UPS is...its the comfort level I guess.
Kez/JWolf
Thanks all for your replies.... if USCIS did send everything by recorded mail it would be interesting to see how many thing stopped being returned undeliverable... or just plain lost!!!!! I think they suffer from the age old business excuss of "ITS IN THE MAIL" "MUST HAVE GOT LOST"

Kezzie
Babsi
I would pay extra too!!
john_and_marlene
I vote for Fed-Ex or UPS or DHL

We have a contract mail carrier (postal employee wannabe) and he seems to keep putting mail in the wrong boxes and I'm getting the feeling he takes days off during the week. I keep getting the Thursday shopping flyer on Saturday.

... and what happens if the mail carrier is at the postal center when the next disgruntled ex-employee offs a few coworkers? Won't that cause a delay?

Speak for yourself. I've only got one liver and I need that thing to filter alcohol.

Definitely (as long as it isn't TOO outrageous!). I want that mail safe and secure in MY hands, not someone elses!

I have to differ from your opinion... The USPS is so reliable that I have been waiting 3 month for my EAD to arrive???? Off course, it hasn't been returned to the service center so they tell me it must be lost... TOUGH LUCK FOR ME!!!! If they would at least certify the mail they at would have a way to know where the darn thing is. Off course USPS says USCIS always blames it on them but won't pay extra to certify or register the mail, for all they know USCIS never put anything in the mail... USCIS, says, it is the USPS fault but at the end of the line no one wants to be responsible mad.gif
de_sjiem
I've been wishing for this option for a long time! That way all the troubles with things being returned undeliverable and all that wouldnt be so tragic in some of the cases..
nayalamb
i would definitely pay extra, esp. since they'd screwed up our things before. mad.gif

having peace of mind is priceless for such an important process.
