I've searched and cannot find any active Peruvian/American couples going through the K-3 visa process. Are there any currently active in pursuing the K-3? Or are Luis and I the only ones?

Our K3 interview is scheduled in Lima for October 12. Today I am going to call the embassy and see if they will change it to our CR-1 since it just got approved.
We just about have all our reports togther for the k3 interview.
It seems that your K3 was sent to the embassy the same week as ours. Do you have a interview date yet? My wife never received the packets from the embassy and I found out the date by calling the embassy.
Keep in touch, maybe we can help each other remember what we need to get done here.

That would be great, madu. My husband is going to call the Embassy tomorrow to see if they received our case yet. I'm extremely anxious to bring him home and can't wait to get our interview date.
Please keep in touch. I'll ask you questions as they come up, and please feel free to do the same.
I'll be looking forward to hearing about your interview experience!

madu...I was re-reading your previous post and you said that your wife never received the packets from the Embassy? How can that be? Doesn't she need to return some documents to the Embassy before the interview?
I would be really concerned if the packets were not received by my husband. Maybe you should inquire about that.

I finally talked to someone in the consular section of the Embassy today and was told that my husband would need to schedule his own interview once he receives Packet 3/4 from them. I told him that I believed the Embassy scheduled the interview in the case of K-3 visas. He said that in fact, it would be up to my husband to do so.
This is the first I've heard of this. Any opinions on this?

Where my wife lives, her mail is unreliable and I usually have things sent to the main post office and she picks them up there. I had the embassy send her another copy to the main post office and she got them yesterday.
The instructions in the packets are very outdated, incomplete, and in some instances, outright wrong. For the K1 we about lost our heads trying to find out what was the correct address to return one of the forms only to find out after the interview that it did not need to be returned at all. I confirmed this with embassy about the K3 yesterday, that there is nothing that needs to be returned before the interview.
According to my wife, and from what the lady at the embassy said, the K1 and K3 packets are the same. It is new to me that they said that your husband would schedule the interview. Maybe his packets will say something different.

madu....do you pay the $100 interview fee prior to the interview? Are there any forms my husband is required to return to the Embassy before the interview? He says the instructions he received say "no", but I have heard differently.

Yes pay the $100 before the interview.
Las week I called the embassy, and I asked specifically about returning forms before the interview, and the woman said that no forms needed to be returned prior.

Thanks again! I'll make sure my husband calls the Embassy with every question he has. You can't be too careful with these things
