my fiancee and i have a k1 petition in process. she called the u.s. embassy in bogota, colombia and they told her that they sent her packet 3 on september 21. she is worried because she has not received it yet. from reading some of the comments on here it does look like it may take up to 2 weeks to receive the packet even though she does live in bogota. is there a time cut off where the embassy will consider the packets "lost" and resend it or have it picked up at the embassy? also, how are the interview dates determined? do they wait until they receive the packet 3 forms that they give to her to send back to them to schedule an interview date, or is the interview date scheduling a separate process, for example, is it scheduled when the embassy received the petition from the national visa center? in other words, will no interview date be scheduled until they receive the packet 3 forms from her? thanks

Check out the "Colombia Club" thread going on -- there is some good info for K1 applicatants with approved K1's waiting for Packet 3/interviews.
My wife and I are kind of at a low point -- still waiting for Packet 3 since Aug 10th. So, we downloaded the forms contained in Packet 3, filled them out, got the required support docs, and faxed those suckers in -- WE ARE TIRED OF WAITING!!!!!
The mail service? Pfffftttt. Sucks in Col. --- another reason we are not waiting any more.
Anyway -- that's what we have done!
