Hi guys!!!
I received a packet today by mail.. But i'm so confused... I thought I was going to get packet 3!
On the front page it's saying the date for the interview, the case number, preference category(K-3), my name, THEN "ENCL. : Packet 4." I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO GET PACKET 3!!!

On the second page it's juts repeting some information then says: FIRST; Fill out the forms DS 230 etc... Then... "SECOND; Have these documents ready, aplicable to your case BUT DON"T SEND TO THIS OFFICE." I thought I had to send packet 3 before packet 4.... Please anybody has any idea???

Does anybody have any idea to what is happening???? Is that right??? Should I ask for packet 3???

Does it give you an interview date? If you don't have an interview date then it should be packet 3. What forms did you recieve? Packet 3 has DS-230,OF-190 156,156K, I-134. The DS-230 and OF-169 forms are part of packet 3. You fax or mail them to the embassy to request an interview date. THe other forms iincluded in packet 3 are not sent to the embassy, you take them with you to the interview. Packet 4 is sent to you by the embassy a little while after you send in the DS-230 and OF-169. Packet 4 contains the interview date and letter you need for medical exams.

I think this is strange, but I'm not that familiar with K-3 so I can't say whether this is entirely out of the ordinary.

If it has an interview date enclosed, then it should be packet 4. I would just follow whatever instructions they provided with the packet. If it says to come to the interview and bring these papers, then just do that.

Each Consulate is different. I don't know anything about the one in Rio. It may be possible to call there, or go in and ask a question.

Hello SILK ROAD, HEALTHIUS, MAYA62 and dear friends from VJ...
Since they got my process in RIO I had my interview date. It's on November 21st.
YES! I don't need to send packet 3 ... I call them today... and there's no need to send packet 3. The lady was not able to tell me why. I just have to prepare packet 4 and go to the interview.
I'm relieved!!!! Praise God!!!!!!!!!!!
