Hey all - not sure if this is being discussed anywhere else . . .
I am in the "waiting room" for an interview date for a K3 in Montreal.
Yesterday I got the letter in the mail that tells me to send my $70 (and varius confusing forms) to the NVC to start my CR1 option . . .
Yes, the CR1 would be better so my husband can work right away . . .
but any idea how much longer that should take????
Anyone gone through the CR1 in Montreal vs. the K3?

P.S. - sorry for the double post - my fast typing fingers hit the enter button accidentally!

check the timelines of other Canadians for CR1 and the checklist posted somewhere around here on how to speed it up. But it could still be a few months before you get to the interview stage for the CR1

You can also do both. Your foreigner can enter with the K-3, hang out (no working) and then go back for the IV appointment.
If the K-3 applies for a work permit, it takes about 3 months to get, so there are financial consequences.

Our K3 arrived in Mtl on May 18 and on Aug.22 I found out our interview was Oct. 24
In the mean time our CR 1 was case complete on Aug 21, sent to Mtl on Sept.12 and our interview is Oct 20th. 4 days before the K3 interview.
Don't know if this is the norm now but our K3 interview took 5 months to get. Kinda glad now as we were hoping the CR 1 would get thru first.
It's all very nerve wracking trying to figure out how they work.
