I'm posting this in two catagories, because I'm not sure where the best place to post is....
I got my NOA2 on August 30th from the California Serice Center, and I have NOT received anything from NVC yet. How long does it take to transfer the case to NVC, and for them to issue me a new case number...and start that process and junk??? Should I be worried that it's been almost a month now?? Or is this normal?

Alrighty...did you receive the NOA2 in the mail yet? With this case number you can call the NVC and check on the document packet that the USCIS sent to the NVC, which the NVC issues. In our case it took 1 month to process and send to Guangzhou Embassy in China. Where it stayed in a Chinese customes holding area for two months. Now it is at the Embassy, where my fiancee has received the P3 packet and is waiting for the P4 interview packet. Now this can take up to 6 months to receive a date for teh interview, depending on the Embassy......
Remember that when the NVC sends the document to the Embassy in question, they will no longer be able to check on them for you, it becomes the Department of State you have to call. Then the Embassy after they receive them.
Patient is a virtue my friend.. but check as often as you can as to the process and when they ask for coroberating documnet, financial support documnents, make copies of eveything.
Here are some number that are helpful and are buried in the documents that you have filled out.
All these agencies are in the Eastern Time Zone
NVC 603-334-0700
Department of State 202-663-1225

China Rob -- Questions ??
You say above "When you receive your NOA2, With this case number you can call the NVC and check on the document packet that the USCIS sent to the NVC, which the NVC issues."
Is the case number on the NOA2 not the same as the one on the NOA1? Mine is a WAC number.... I don't have my NOA1 & NOA2's here or I would check... I'm just curious....

Yes, thank you. I figured that out today. I called the NVC phone number, and entered my WAC reciept number from my USCIS NOA2 letter...it worked. It then gave me my NVC case #. But that's all it said.

Did you call the NVC and talk to a live person yet? If not then you probably should.

So it sounds like they did get it. Now you can expect the DS-3032 for your spouse to receive and the bill for the I-864. Your on your way.
