One question though, does the message change in a few weeks and actually say that the first two items (AOS Bill & DS-3032) have been generated or is this notice of case assignment an indicator that they have?

The answer is yes. The automated system will say that DS 3032 and AOS Fee Bill have been generated.

This thread reminded me to call the NVC and check on our case. I called a few days ago and nothing was new. But today I got word that the DS3032 was sent to hubby on 9/18 and that the AOS fee bill was sent to me on the same day. Just to give you an idea of the time frame

It'll be 1-2 weeks before NVC generates the DS-3032 and I-864 Fee Bill. Congratulations!
