Okay, I need your help in deciphering this: "On September 22, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. "

I received this in an e-mail.

Am I correct to think that they have completed my I-130 and will send me an approval? Or did I win $300 million dollars?

I should go back to school to learn how the government speaks.. Can't they just say "everything is cool and your apporal message is in the mail.." haha

Thanks all.

What that message means is that now that they have received the information from you that they requested, the processing time remaining will be less than if they were starting right from the beginning.

You should be getting an approval shortly.

Good luck.

I thought the message is fine. It simply means that they asked for additional information after they had reviewed your application. So when you will submmit the RFE, they will only review the RFE and if the RFE is fine with them, you will get the approval shortly.

I will await the letter then.. maybe next week.

Thank you again.

Take that message with a grain of salt.

I recieved the same message after sending back what they requested from an RFE.

I didn't hear a thing back from them until nearly a year later.

By that time, and after numerous calls to USCIS, my congressman etc....to get some kind of movement, I eventually withdrew the application, hired a lawyer, and started another.

It's just words.

When the government speaks.................it could mean anywhere from days............to a year before you see any kind of movement.

My advise....................stay vigilant...and persisitant. Don't let up.
