I was originally planning to take a Uhaul untel I read the horror stories about the company, AND Uhaul jacked up their prices astronomically. So instead I found a place called ABS U-Pack. You take all your stuff to one of their commercial trailers and pack it in, provide them with the appropriate documents, and send them on their merry way while you walk on to a plane. A week later, you go pick up all your stuff. The way they are able to make it so cheap is after your stuff is packed behind a bulkhead in the truck, they load the rest of it up with commercial goods that are being shipped to a nearby location.
All of this, including the one-way flight into Denver, comes in at a tidy $1500. Uhaul was going to charge me 1498.00 PLUS paying for the gas on the damn truck. As an aside the only reason I am doing this is because when my mom moved away she left me a bunch of really nice furniture that would cost well over $4000 to replace.
So is this a good deal? Yes? No? Any suggestions? Tips? Recommended companies?
