This is a list which I have put together one day while chatting with friends. These complains were the most common ones.

um, I would say rudeness best describes you, what do you think?

LOL...these are "human" characteristics, not American by any means.

I work directly with many people from all over the world in my job (French, Korean, Spanish, English, Japanese, Chinese) and have seen all of these and more from them as well as Americans.

Maybe more in some than others...yet tis a human condition.

Not really. I can consider the British to be very polite. Generally speaking, I think it's fair to say that Britons are not rude (except perhaps when they are intoxicated), in comparison to Americans who swear and shout constantly.

well she didnt use the word HATE, lol And its a general 'annoying traits' thing - its not ' i hate all americans and hope they die' thing
For example us Brits see the French as incredibley rude and arrogant..we see Americans as arrogant as well - maybe Brits are arrogant as seen by others or maybe we get labelled as 'cold' or 'defensive'- I dont know..Im sure most Americans reading this board could care less either way too

to reiterate a couple of other posts in this thread, seems to me that list could apply to any nationality... every group of ppl has members with one or more of those qualities in their personalities

and just an added note on my personality... hate to blow the stereotype... i do not swear and shout constantly... and i am an american

there is alot of people who make generaliaztions about other countries too... like Canadians all live in igloos and get around using dogsleds and are all very polite etc........ now I know that not all people believe that but a lot of people do....

Didn't do poll about misconceptions about Americans. Did poll "What behavior do you dislike the most about Americans?" with a list of 10 or 12 faults, which to me implies that she thinks all of those are faults of Americans or they wouldn't be listed.
