Well....i am hoping to visit my fiance in US but i am concerned at the likelihood of problems.

I will be going for just over a week, and plan to have return air ticket- return train tickets and a letter from my employer to confirm my expected return date, wondered if anyone has experienced problems?

My passport has stamps for the 4 previous visits i have made over the past few years to show that i have never overstayed - any ideas thoughts or experiences ?

i came over with our K1 journey approved..i had no problems at the airport.. but what i did bring with me for the visit was ...a letter from my employer stating my vaction time and what date i will be starting work again...bank records current statement...my rental statements..

the only question of me was who i was visiting an i told them my fiance ...and got told enjoy my stay

they have all your information on the computer about you...they can see if you are a risk of staying over illegally...

i wouldnt worry too much on it....i say that after entering while on the journey lol

I made at least 4 trips to California from Toronto while my K-1 was pending with no hassles. I am self employed as well. However, I had been travelling/working in the US for 15 yrs on various visas, so the maybe the immigration officers kinda knew me.

I was never asked anything other that 'purpose of trip'. and replied 'to visit my fiancee'.

Does anyone else have an experience doing this, esp. from Canada to the U.S.? I'm going to be trying in November while our K-1 is pending so I want to find out as much as I can. Sounds like it's easy-going though.

I did this form the UK and had no problems. I was actually going to DC to do a presentation for work so when I was asked purpose of vist I replied- to attend a conference. There were no more questions. I had the paperwork you already said you were planning to take with you on me just in case but was never asked for it.

I visited St. Louis (POE In Chicago) 3 times during our K-1 application process and one of those times (Christmas 2004) was after our NOA2 had been issued. I never had any problems even when replying that I was visiting my Fiancee. I always had extra proof with me, including a letter from my employer stating when I was expected back at work, but was never asked to show any of it.

Travel prepared to answer extra questions and with as much pertinant proof as you can get together, answer any and all questions 100% truthfully and you should be fine. As long as you haven't been abusing the VWP or have any history of overstays then I'd say that you will be fine !!

I had no problem with my visit during K1 I stayed for one month

I took letter from my employer, letter from my son's school and a few bills.

They didn't ask for anything.
