No luck finding the panel doctors in Scotland via google or this site!

I have just received packet 3 and since I am currently living in Canada, got the names of the doctors here, but my daughter who is in Scotland at uni will need to get her medical done in Scotland. Does anyone have the names of the approved panel doctors in Scotland?

Thanks very much for your help.

I believe that the only place you can get the medical done in the UK is London, now.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

Maybe she could get a cheap flight down to one of the London airports (both Gatwick and Heathrow have express trains that will get her into London and back to the airport reasonably quickly)?

Oh well....she is in Aberdeen and was moaning about going down to Edinburgh laughing.gif

Aww, I guess you'll have to do the good news/bad news thing.

Hi,

I wish I could tell you that there were docs in SCT, but unfortunately she will have to travel to London.
My husband too, is from Aberdeen. The medicals were done in Edinburgh until mid to late 2005.
On a more postive note, his travel to London was rather easy and he has told me it probably wasn't any more a hassle than going to Edinburgh on a train (apart from the cost of the flights).

Good Luck !!!

I contacted the embassy in London and they will not give me the panel doctors in the UK stating that I have to go through Montreal for her medical. It will be a real inconvenience and expense to have her come out to Canada for the medical! I hope I can get this resolved ASAP. Any ideas?
MrsBruce5

Hmmm....I take it she is Canadian and not a Scottish national ?

If this is the case, she will have to got through Montreal. No way around it, I'm afraid... mad.gif
They sure don't make it easy !

Best of Luck !!!

Hmm, I really wouldn't know. How did you contact them? Did you call the helpline, or did you email?

If you didn't email, I would try sending an email explaning the situation. Since the helpline are pretty much a call center in Scotland who have a fixed set of responses to give to the people that call in. But if you email, you'll get a reply from someone who works in the embassy (eventually).

She is Canadian, I am dual UK/Canada, she is there on ILR, so she should be able to avail herself of services in the UK sad.gif

I emailed the Embassy in London, they sent me the nastiest auto reply saying that all unauthorised use of the email addy would be deleted...who knew? But unauthorised as I was they replied saying that I would need to contact Montreal. I hope this can be easily resolved...I cannot be the only person with children scattered across the globe...lol

That is their standard bounceback email reply.

I used to live in Aberdeen, I used to get to London faster from there on the plane, than I did when I lived 80 miles away from London before laughing.gif

Infact I have to go up there next week, and got tickets for £50 Heathrow and back with BMI.

My wife had to travel to Manchester or Birmingham from Glasgow to have her physical done. I think there was someone in Edinburgh, but we neededthe appointment sooner. I do not think it matters which Dr. Does it as long as they are approved and you submit the sealed packet at the Point of Entry

Well as it turns out the question is moot. I received an email from the Montreal consulate-you need to have the medical done in the country where you are interviewing. Which seems a bit ridiculous and will be a bit of a logistical challenge. Oh well...

Thanks for all the replies smile.gif
