With 2 Wednesday threads, and now Friday coming early, I am really having a mixed up week!
It is Thursday and the new season of Survivor starts in 20 minutes!

I don't know what day it is anymore. First Tuesday was Wednesday, and now Thursday is Friday!

FYI - that's a belt that has a "holder" for him to put the pole in so it doesn't fly off when he catches something

like a stabilizer!

Phew! Good to know my husband hasn't succumbed to the fanny pack craze!

actually, it has a "cup" in it for the butt of the fishing rod. should someone catch a fairly large fish, they rest the butt of the fishing rod in that cup. then they can use both their hands to pull the fishing rod up vertical, pulling the fish closer to the boat, then reel fast while slowly letting the rod go back almost horizontal, and repeat. without such catching a large fish would wear a person out to the point of being unable to even reel the fish in.

Yay for Friday! It's another rainy day here in Philly, but it's supposed to be a nice weekend! My husband and I are going to the Renn Fest on Sunday for sure! I am super excited! I wish I still had the costume I made in high school to wear to the Renn Fest, but I do still have my fairy wings I could wear. Anyway, I have to get back to work. It's very busy today in the drive thru window. People don't want to walk in the rain. Well I hope everyone has a good Friday!

Is Renn Fest short for Rennaisance Festival????

I've never been to one. What's it like?

sooooooooo much fun.... Rennaisance/Medieval Re-Enactment Atomosphere. There's usually jousting, crafts, humor, dancing, music, fairies, giant turkey legs to eat .... lots of fun. I danced at ours for a few years. The one in Louisiana is still small as it's only been around 5 or 6 yrs... but the one outside of Houston TX is great! Never been to any others, but I hear the PA one is also good/fun. If you get a chance, Jenn, you should go. I hope to take Said this year or next.

I did some searching and I suppose "King Richard's Fair" is our version of a Renn Fest. Sounds fun, I just might go!

Hey ladies and gents....Happy friday to all......Just got up from a long night last night...we didnt get home until 2am and sofyan had to leave for work this morning at 8am...poor guy...The wedding was amazing...His cousin was soo happy..I will post pics as soon as their developed...

On the agenda today....Since I start my new job monday and "business professional" is demanded, it seems i must do some shopping seeing how i own *1* pair of black gaucho pants, no dress shirts, and a blazer is mandatory everyday for this job, which I also do not own....boy oh boy i hope someone is having a good sale.....well off to the shower ...hope everyone has a great friday

my sister is ill.
she had a heart attack . she is not OLD. she is very young
48. she is my elder sister. she had it yesterday- I am not sure how she is doing right this instantly -I will call the hospital shortly.

Shon, I'm so sorry to hear. Stay strong for your sister. I hope she recovers quickly.

I hope she gets better soon shon inshaAllah My grandpa had a heart attack at 45 and lived for 40 years after that so hopefully she will too.

That's awful Shon! I'm sorry to hear. That is very young for her. I pray she gets well soon, ameen.

she is my aunt. but, my mom adopted her younger sister. she and I are very close. we grew up togeather course she was grown up more she over 10 year older than me.

Let me just say that I my masjid. It began it's life as a NOI temple, and then in the 70s, followed WD Muhammad to sunni islam. While most of the congregants are african american, it there are a fair bit of african immigrants, indians, arabs, turks and the random white and latino thrown in. They rotate khatibs and today was a little old egyptian man who went on and on about ibadah (worship) and community in Ramadan with such excitment in his voice, it was hard not to get up and yell Ameen or Allahu Akbar. And then there is just something about praying jama'ah along with brothers in everything from shiny dashikis to ghetto attire complete with Allah (swt) bling, and sisters in colorful african dresses and headwraps to those in all black abayas. Alhamdulilah, it's truely a colorful ummah.

Wooooo, I'm energized for the weekend

OK, I'm soon heading out to go dance at my favorite quasi-local Moroccan/Lebanese Restaurant - where I can get a *fix* of couscous and tagine!!!! YUM.... I'm craving lamb tagine & couscous! Oh my!!!!
I want to be in Morocco having mom's tagine!!! I guess this is the next best thing.
