As I recently acquired the status of permanent resident, once I arrive in LAX do I line up in the US citizens customs line or the line for everybody else?

Thanks

Go to the US Citizen/Residents line... not the visitors line....

Note that some airports segregate their lines differently. The best bet in general is to read the signs carefully and follow their instructions, and/or ask an officer to direct you to the correct line. Often, there will be one section marked for US citizens and permanent residents, and another queue for everyone else. I assume that's the case for LAX.

But read the signs to be sure. And don't worry too much; the worst that will happen if you get in the wrong line is that they'll tell you to wait in the other line.

Haz,

Customs does not have different lines for different classes. Any person can use any line.

Perhaps you are thinking of immigration?
