Has anyone else had problems with Fed Ex in Cairo?

I sent a mere envelope with a letter, picture and two Red Sox pens last Monday. Paid $44.50 to get it to Cairo by Sunday at the latest. It still is not there!! We have called them a few times now and they said the first two times that no one was home. Well the whole family was home because his father is sick and someone always has to be there to take care of him. We triple checked the address and now I'm sooo frustrated. I want a refund because at this point I could have just sent the thing by USPS and spent $15 instead of $44.50! mad.gif

Anyone else had problems with Fed EX? Should I have used DHL instead?

Sorry to hear about this. Since January, I have always sent letters and boxes thru regualr mail . My fiance lives in a small village and hes always received everything I have ever sent.
You may want to just stick with USPS.

I always used USPS. Sometimes it took weeks to get there, but it always did.

We used FedEx for everything important and never had a problem. I would suggest starting with your local FedEx office to inquire and let them advise you where to go from there. I was physically IN the FedEx office in Cairo and they are extremely professional and polished. There is a possibility because of the pens inside it may have gotten snagged in customs. They are not so reliable at moving things quickly.

Editted to say... Remember this is Egypt. You kind of take your chances with things like this so don't let it ruffle you too much.
