Rich and I are getting a little stressed, as we sent back our Packet 3 on 08/22, and havent' heard anything from the embassy. Unfortunately, Torquay and Plymouth post offices are on strike, and with Rich living in Torquay, he hasn't been getting any mail. We are worried the date is going to come before we get the letter. I have emailed the London Consular, but still haven't heard anything back from them. Does anyone have any suggestions? Should we call the embassy? If so, what is the number we can reach them at? Rich is here visiting me right now, but will be back in England tomorrow. If anyone could give us any ideas, we would be very grateful! What are the chances they would go on strike when we're expecting this really important letter? sad.gif

USC call the DOS 202-663-1225 press 1, press 1, press 0 you may have to wait 15 mins or so. Ask them if the interview date has been scheduled and explain about the strikes etc.

Hope this helps

They reply to emails in a few days, try that as well. It's free.

Put your case # in subject line.

Guessing from everyone else's timeline, your probably in the neighborhood of Oct 2nd or 3rd for the interview time. smile.gif

I sent mine back at around the same time as you
I sent pack 3 forms back - received proof of delivery stamp 22nd August

I sent IV15 back - received proof of delivery stamp 30th August.

When I called the ' helpline' they advised the interview date will be provided upon receipt of the IV15 checklist, but they had not updated the system.

I've e-mailed a few times too and get the same response

We have no record of having received the forms to which you refer.
However there is a delay of 6 - 8 weeks between the date the forms are
received by the Embassy and the date in which they are processed and
entered on to our system. As soon as the Immigrant Visa Unit has
received the forms and completed any additional processing on your
application you can anticipate receiving an appointment date for an
interview within 8 weeks.

Thank you for your e-mail correspondence.

Which I think is a standard response.

He also called the DOS - exactly the same information.

I'm going to leave it until the 21st Sept and start chasing again

I seem to be getting a response from the e-mails to the embassy in around 3 working days.

Hopefully we will both hear something soon!!

I had the same problem as you guys (see timeline below) I would not worry until it is a month after you sent of your checklist... but keep calling and e-mailing and it will all happen in the end!!!!! Good luck!!!!!!!!

Thank you all for your help! I called today and they told me they hadn't received our Packet 3 until Sept. 7, and that Packet 4 hasn't been sent out yet. That's crazy, seeing we sent Packet 3 back August 21. It might have something to do with the strikes. Anyway, I feel better knowing others are in the same boat. I am still a little worried we won't get the date until right before the interview, and in that case, I won't be able to book a ticket to go to London with Rich.

Just email the embassy every other day with the case number (LND.........) in the subject line, inquiring about your interview date. When they have it they will give it to you. But remember they don't keep a record of your correspondence so they will only reply to your current email, that's why it's good to email them every other day. Best wishes for you! It will be soon!

seems like they always give about a month's warning of the interview.....and if you keep e-mailing they will tell you if you have a date... so you should be ok for getting your ticket. No real gain in your going to the interview though ... except as moral support for your finace.
Hope you hear something soon!!

Still no word on the interview date! I emailed the consular twice, and haven't heard back. I also called the number for DOS, but they said there wasn't an interview scheduled yet. Oh well...I know it will come, I'm just getting impatient! I was so patient for the rest of the process, but now that we're so close, I just want to know the date (it could have something to do with the fact that I will be at the interview with Rich, so I'll have a date set that I'll see him again!! smile.gif ). I was with him 3 days ago, and it feels like it's been months! It's so crazy how time flies when you're with each other! Anyway, thanks for your help. I'm sure it's coming.....Patience is a virtue!
