My husband(american citizen) and I are trying to bring my 12 yr.old son who lives in Brazil. All the processes have been completed and now they sent packet 4 to his address, and in the instructions it says that we have to pay U$ 380.00 on the interview date. We already payed to NVC the same ammount. Do we have to pay it again?

Has anybody faced the same situation? Please help! smile.gif

Wow, this is the exact thing I was looking for. I just got a letter from the NVC that we have to pay $380 to continue with my stepson's application for a visa. This was after they requested $70 to process his afidavit of support. I'm just wondering where all these fees are coming from. They're not listed on the uscis website. I'm glad I found this thread because at least I know this is a legitimate request. It just like as soon as you feel like you're getting somewhere, there's another document they need or even worse...more money on top of the thousands we've already spent!
whew, rant over...sorry.
Thanks again for this post, it doesn't make my pocket book feel better but it gives me a bit of clarity at least.

Good luck to you all! good.gif

No, you don't need to pay $380.00 twice. The interview letter is a general one. The letter also says if the petitioner/agent already paid $380.00, then you don't need to bring this fee again.

Lani,

The fees are coming from the NVC - you said so yourself in your post.

Of course you don't seem the fees listed on the USCIS web site - the NVC is not associated with the USCIS. You will see the fees listed ........[drum roll]...... on the NVC pages of the DoS web site.
