I feel like this is a silly question, but bear with me please smile.gif

I will be a citizen (barring disaster) on September 22. That day I plan on mailing out the I-129F application for my husband. I've seen posts that the G-235A isn't a big deal -- but still ... I don't want to omit the number or write none if I'm still considered as having the number.

Thanks for any input - I know there are others out there who have filed k-3 after becoming citizens.

thanks again,
sandy.

Hm. Well I don't know the answer about the number, but I do believe you have to submit a copy of your naturalization certificiate (or whatever the heck it is they give you) to prove citizenship. Do they give it to you that day or do you have to wait for it to arrive - like a person waits on the greencard?

My sister naturalized last year, and she got her certificate on the day of the ceremony. So I'm hoping for the same - otherwise I will clearly have to wait until I get it.

I am a naturalized US citizen and I have the same A number that I had in my green card. So yes, you will like to have the A number on your naturalizatino certificate too. In that case, you will put your A number on G-325A and on I-130+I-129F.

thanks so much for the responses!

Yep, a note to all naturalized citizens, the 'A' number stays with you for life. blink.gif So make sure you enter it in which ever form is asking for it. It is confusing because even though you are a US citizen you are being referenced with an 'A' (Alien) number. wacko.gif

It doesnt make much sense but thats what needs to be done so enter it any/all forms that asks for a A number.
