I have all of the paperwork ready to go, but am concerned about the proper presentation (which I don't see info on this site). Do I need a cover letter? Should I put it in a binder, using plastic holders? Or staple it together? Thanks!

Well the ACCO top fasteners are what they use in government files. Cover letter is good too. I suggest having everything two hole ACCO binded up into a simple folder with 3-M "post it" flags to index the different forms. (I was surprised to see all the tabs still in the file during the AOS interview)

Mactan,

A cover letter may be helpful if it helps the clerical people find the different documents within the submission - tabs or labels on the documents is even better for that ('sticky notes' are ideal for this). For any other purpose a cover letter is useless. Don't, for example, use the cover letter to explain something about your submission or provide additional information - it isn't going to go into the file, it's going to get tossed.

Binders, plastic sheet holders, and staples just make it more difficult and time consuming for the clerical staff to take apart and sort your submission to re-arrange it for the case file, and gives them a pile of stuff to throw away.

While a cover letter is not require, but it is definitely helpful.

When I started this process I downloaded a K3 Visa Spouse kit from the internet.. it was like 39.95, but well worth the money. That was pre finding VJ.... Here is the order to put all documents in based on the kit.... someone can correct me if it's wrong:

Make a check or money order for $170 out to: USCIS.
Staple it to the front (middle) of the I-129F Form.
Place the 2 U.S. Citizen USCIS photos and the 2 Foreign National Spouse USCIS photos in a
small envelope and staple the envelope to the top left hand corner of the I-129F Form. (Do NOT
staple through the photos!).
Place the documents in the following order:
• I-129F Form – Completed, signed and dated.
• G-325 Form – U.S. Citizen - Completed, signed and dated.
• G-325 Form – Foreign National Spouse - Completed, signed and dated.
• Cover Letter to USCIS - I-129F Petition
• A Clear Copy of the I-130 I-797 Filing Receipt
• Copy of Marriage Certificate
• Copy of Birth Certificate for U.S. Citizen
• Copy of Complete Final Divorce Decree from all Previous Marriages - U.S. Citizen
• Copy of Birth Certificate for Foreign National Spouse
• Copy of Complete Final Divorce Decree from all Previous Marriages - Foreign National
Spouse.
