I have 4 questions about the Cairo Embassy if anyone who went through or is going through Cairo can help me

1. Is it normal for the packet 3 to take 9 days to get to your fiance(e) house once the Embassy has mailed it out? They mailed my fiancee's on August 31st and he hasn't recieved it yet. I was not sure if it takes this long.

2. When i read the VJ embassy information about packet 3 it seems to me that the information they are requesting is for the interivew. So is a packet 4 sent out? Or is the interview included when they recieve packet 3?

3. Does the Embassy know your interview date before they recieve packet 3?

4. Do you have to email the Embassy once packet 3 has been mailed back to the Embassy? It says in the Consular page for Egypt Embassy that you have to email them after you submit packet 3? i never knew that, and the representative ( when i finally got someone on the phone) told me that also she told me to email them after packet 3 is completed.

If anyone can help me with thes question i would appreciate it very much . Thank you in advance.

According to the info on Cairo's embassy website, only after your fiance e-mails the embassy letting them know all the documents requested - once they have the case there (from NVC) - were gathered, they'll send the beneficiary instructions on how to send them to the embassy by TNT. When they receive them and check if everything's there, an interview will be scheduled.

QUOTE
The second stage of the fiance(e) visa process will begin when the Embassy receives the approved I-129F petition from the U.S. At that time, we will send the foreign applicant -- the beneficiary--a detailed list of the supporting documents needed to apply for the visa.

After the beneficiary prepares the required documents (E-mail the Consular section to request a packet of instructions), he/she must submit the applications and all supporting documents to the Consular Section, Immigrant Visa Unit by TNT (the International Courier Service). Click here for the TNT address in Egypt.
If your documents are complete, you will be scheduled for an interview.

Yeah i wrote down the TNT info. and i wrote down about the email. That is so crazy because i sent them emails about his packet 3 about 4 emails no repsond so far. And they say the best way to contact them is through email Yeah right. I sent a personal email to Amerylu she answered some things she told me she would help in any way she could which was comforting. Thanks again so much for your help. I have a long way to go with Cairo i see that now.

Hi - We are just finishing up out Packet 3 documents. My husand got the Packet 3 about 6 days after they were sent from the Embassy. Just an FYI - the more you call or contact the embassy - the more pestered they feel. I was told that - hahahaha.

I was the one who put the Packet 3 info out on this website for Egypt. This is what was on a list for my husband. It's all his info - the only info I needed was some papers to show that I can take care of him financially when he is here in the U.S. They don't want the I-134 so I am assuming this comes in the next set of documents or he will need it at the interview.

No - they don't already have the interview date when they send you the packet 3 as they don't know how long it's going to take you to get everything together. Just so happened that hubby called to schedule the medical and someone had just cancelled so he got in next day. So it was quick. He gets to go to the hospital to pick up the results on Saturday and then he sends in all the info. In the letter that came with the packet, it said that if all the documents are there that they need within 10 days he will have his interview date. So we're crossing our fingers. We've checked, double checked, and triple checked that everything is there.

I know nothing about email the embassy after you send in your papers. Doesn't say anything in the packet 3 instructions about that.

If you have more questions you can pm me. Thanks

CairoBound, perhaps the processing for K1s is different from the K3s.
