I was wanting to know from other's experiences how long does it take to recieve packet 3 once the Embassy sends it to your fiancee? The Embassy sent my fiancee to him on August 31st he has not recieved packet 3 yet so its been about 8 days i am sure there is not red alert yet to call the Embassy. But I was still wondering how long should you wait until you call the Embassy and inquire about packet 3 if its already been sent and your fiancee hasn't recieved it yet. And advice appreciated thank you.

What's the mail service like where he lives? Is it reliable. Remember that the U.S. embassy took a holiday on Labor Day and there might be local holidays that slowed down work at the embassy. Also, you should check the embassy web site in his country to see if you can download the packet three. That works pretty good too.

Well the mail i am not sure how it is there. I know when i send him things it takes him 7 days to recieve things there. So i am not sure i know if he doesn't have his papers soon i will call back to them Embassy i will give them another 1 week. QUESTION: you mentioned about downloading forms. which forms are these are can you use them if he didn't recieve his packet 3 for any reason?

I've checked their website and I think they don't have the forms there or packet 3 instructions available for download. According to this - http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...t&cty=Cairo - 2 DS-156 and one DS-157 will be needed.

Brazil has their "own" forms, because they're written in Portuguese. So I don't know whether the ones I've pointed you to would work in Egypt (you should either wait for packet 3 or ask the consulate). In any case, you can have a look at them, and check the example forms:

You're welcome. Hopefully someone else going through Cairo will have more accurate answers for you. By looking at that link on VJ, I'm not even sure Cairo sends out 2 packets. The info in the Packet 3 box seems to be a list of what the beneficiary should have for the interview and not what packet 3 actually contains. So, it's quite confusing. Also, there's no mention to I-134 - not sure if they require it there. So I guess you'll have to wait for the packet to find out...

Funny you mentioned that when i read that info you need i didn't see where it would apply to both packets as well. I might have to ask someone who went through Cairo i am not sure either. Thanks again.
