I'm sorry, if the administrators could please post this in the appropriate forum.

I'm living in Thailand but I wish to return to the United States with my fiancee.

My main concern is him being able to work as soon as possible once we go to the states.

Since I'm in Thailand, I could get married now and file for the K-3 visa. Or, I could return home on the K-1 visa.

Is there a forum or a thread that addresses choosing between these two visas?

Which visa will allow him to work in the U.S. faster? Do I have to be married for a certain amount of time before he would be allowed to apply?

I assume alot of newbies have the very same questions as me! What do you recommend me to do, to find these answers on my own? Thread/forum or book you think I should buy?! Thanks good.gif

Hi and welcome to VJ good.gif

As you are living in Thailand, you should also look into DCF (filing the I-130 directly with the consulate there in Thailand) Have a read of the DCF Guide If you qualify, it is generally a much faster path to the visa and grants immigrant status on entry. Also check out the DCF Forum
