You have to apply at your local Indian embassy. They will do it for you. I hear it takes a few months.

if i decide to go back 3 months prior to interview date. is there any specific requiremtent for NRI to get a police certificate in India or not???

or just paying them extra can work???

or pcc from regional passport office????

the thing is i will b leaving from here when delhi consulates receives my documents so, i presume tat i will stay in india for 2-3 months.

Hmm. You should ask Delhi Embassy that question. If an Indian citizen is resident abroad and applies for a US visa from a consular post in any country other than India, then the proper procedure is to get the police certificate from your Indian embassy.

However, your case is different. You should email the Delhi embassy, they are usually quite good at replying to emails.

yes you have to apply for both pcc as well as certificate from the passport office as well....wherever you stayed for more than six months after the age of 16 yrs as you have submitted in the G- form.

Yes but the OP says he/she will only be in India 2-3 months prior to the interview. Which is precisely why I directed him to take his query to the Consulate.
