Hello Ladies and Gents,

This is just a friendly FYI notice. Please be careful with mail that comes that looks like just. The EAD and possible GC will be in one of those envelopes. If you see a plain white envelope that has a window in the upper left had with "PO Box 648005, Lees's Summit, MO 64064 with a barcode under that address, guess what that is what you card will be in. Its just a plain white envelope.

I hope this information is useful to someone.

Um...not sure what you're meaning here. Did you get something odd in the mail? From my experience, anything that comes from the USCIS is stated so on the envelope in the left hand corner. The RFE we got came from Lee's Summit, MO and was clearly stated that it was from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and it was a white envelope. But there was no doubt who it was from.

The envelope that will contain your EAD/GC is in a plain white envelope and will not have anything about USCIS on it. I know some people have mistaken this envelope for junkmail. I am just trying to prepare people that are waiting on these cards.

I was going to show you the envelope but my husband shredded it.

Hmmm....ok. Odd that the USCIS would do something so irresponsible as that. Wait...did I say irresponsible?? After all, we are dealing with the USCIS. laughing.gif

This is what it will look like with the envelope (i blacked out our address and name) and why most people would think it was just junk mail.

Did you get an email that your EAD had been approved?? I just wanna make sure that they are still doing that and that I am not just gonna one day get it in the mail and have it accidentally thrown away! It would be nice to be on the look out biggrin.gif

Yep, my EADs came in plain envelopes that just had the Lee's Summit return address, nothing to identify them as coming from USCIS. I thought at the time it was a good thing they were addressed to me as my husband often throws out what he assumes to be junk mail without opening it. I have taken to opening the junk mail and verifying it is indeed junk - and discovered 2 cheques made out to him that he thought were letters soliciting business! Ah, the perils of junk mail!

I think you guys would do well to look into some ways to reduce your junk mail, if you're going to be so shredder happy on anything that looks out of the ordinary (although I would have thought the "Lee's Summit, MO" return address would have sounded alarm bells).

Have a read here, at least one of the options can be done for free online (stopping getting credit card offers):
