Hello guys, we are using a lawyer to do our Aos paperwork, finally she is going to send them next week and start with the process, but we decided to do the AP by ourselves because she wanted to charge us a lot more for that document and we cant afford it. I read somewhere here that we can apply for the AP after our Aos is started, is that correct?? I found this form: http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/files/I-131.pdf I would like to know if its the correct one for the AP, then i know that its supposed that you should apply for AP only to travel abroad for emergent personal or bona fide business reasons, well i just want to come back to my country to visit my family, i know its not a valid reason for the AP, and i have read here too that there is a lot of people who have applied for the AP in order to visit family, so my question goes for those who already applied for the AP because they just wanted to visit family. what valid reasons did you guys put in the form?? Thanks so much for all your help in advance.

As far as I can tell, visiting family is a valid reason for requesting AP

Hi,

The Advance Parole is the easiest thing I think to do on your own. You don't need a big "valid" reason to obtain it through the normal method..only for the emergency one. It can take 45-100 days to get it but it's worth it. We were approved for my husband's and all I told them was becuase I work for an airline we travel very cheap, and wanted to go to Mexico. Many people merely put that they want to visit friends and family back home..etc. Since we are only 4 months from the holidays I'm sure you could put visiting home for the holidays as a reason and that would be very valid.

Hope this helps
