My wife and I got married in South Korea and she is still there. We filed at the Consular in South Korea. However she now wants to return to the Philippines and wait for her Immigration from there.
I was wondering what kind of impact will that have on her immigration to the US. Will we have to start all over from the beginning?
And why did they say 30 to 41 days, when we filed and now saying 45 to 60 days. I checked the immigration websites and they only have 12 Immigrant VISA Petitions pending. And I know my wife's is one of them.
Thank you

In our case the embassies said new embassy has right and often its requires the new embassy to do thier own paper work, ive seen it time and time again, have her stay , korea has fast high tech system and willl aprove her rather quickly as opposeed the the bogged and confusing system in phillipines, my advice have her stay put for a few months longer. I know KOrea is tough environment for single female, and without her family. good luck

since u were married in south korea she will have to have her interview there anyway. going back to philipeans would not be a good idea unless she wants to travel back for the interviw.

This is ONLY true for K-3 visa interviews.
It would be technically possible (but really silly IMO) to move the initerview to Manila.

I would stay in Korea, Korea Embassy seems very efficient, they are doing a great job with our case, I requested the interview on Monday, and it was posted today, 9/25/06!!!!
