I was engaged in a long conversation with NVC tonight. The advice from there is, expect to wait 2 weeks minimum for case receipt.

Of course, at first I got the "party line" 2-4 weeks. However, with further "drilling" I was advised that it is 2 weeks minimum right now.

Bottom line, expect a minimum 2 week wait for any action after approval.

Did you expect less, following this backlog? I guess I was hopeful on that. Wrong!! mad.gif

2 weeks for a receipt means 2 weeks for them to mail it overseas?

My fiance talked to an NVC person on Friday, and the woman told her that ours would probably go out early this week. If that happens, that would be about one week from arrival. If it takes 2 weeks I won't be too disappointed. I mean it is not NVC's fault that USCIS got so screwed up, and now they have a flood of cases coming in.

Another thing is, we have talked to the NVC 3 times now, and every time they have been friendly and helpful. I know that a lot of frustration has built of over the last few months, but I am going to try to cut NVC some slack.

William I know that you have waited more then most of us. I hope your case shoots right through NVC.

I agree, the folks at NVC are much more customer service oriented. I also realize that the backlog was caused by USCIS. So, it's all good. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

No, 2 weeks for the NVC to receive it and assign a case number. Mine was approved by CSC on 8/10/06 and NVC received it and assigned it a case number on 8/24/06. -- TimR

Congrats on your NOA2!!

NVC says they finally received our package on August 25th...our NOA2 notice date was August 3rd, so it took them 3 weeks to get it. They said they will mail it to the embassy in 2 to 4 weeks, but I suspect it will be off by the end of the week...they've been pretty quick on the simple turn-around so far, so I'm keeping the faith.

Good luck everyone! good.gif
