Just a wonderful way to find out who is actually going to go postal and who will not before the visa ride comes to an end. tongue_ss.gif
Cristy
I do but I promised my man if we can get a house with a pool I will quit! lol I realized today I have been smoking well over half my life ....started at 12 and am 33. That sucks.
Sinergy
Yea I feel the same way, i started 12 and im 29 now. I promised my man Id quit before he got here to the states, the way CSC is going ill be able to keep smoking for longer than expected laughing.gif

Around where I live, it's mostly Russians, Europeans and Koreans who smoke. They are always hanging out by the side doors into the office. You'll probably get a lot of yes's.
aussiewench
Yah Im a smoker...started at 12 too.....Filthy habit IPB Image
kc456
Horrible habit!
Welshcookie
I don't but SO does.....he is banished to the garage tho'....he smokes less in the winter....hehehehehehe
Jaylen Brit
I lmao at the third choice on the poll!
laughing.gif

Yes I smoke - curse me - and I WILL give up - its just now, with the stress of everyting - is a bad time and I know I'd be setting myself up to fail. My SO has NEVER smoked, and he wants me to quit but he's not putting any overt pressure on..once I move I'm hoping the fact i can't go buy any (live miles from a store and can't drive) will be the deciding factor.
aussiewench
yeah Id love to give up.....during this visa process there's no damm way I could do it. Dan smokes too so we have made a pact to give up together once Im there and things are settled

I do smoke but I have ever intention of stopping once I get to the USA

Donna

It was hard to quit but now it has been almost two years since I smoked and I have no desire to ever smoke again.
CarolineM
i smoked all through grad school and through my last BAD relationship - when I left that guy *where smoking was the LEAST of his vices* I stopped smoking.

I haven't touched a cig. since.
irishgirl73
Started at 15-now I am 32........................I swore I was going to quit & then I started the K-1 process, sounds like an excuse but I am too stressed to quit at the moment. I think I would go postal if I quit now & believe me I am on edge already huh.gif

Plan on kicking this addiction real soon(another reason USCIS should approve us) wink.gif
eau_xplain
Hubby and I used to smoke (way before we got married) but we went on the patch together and have now been smoke free for almost 2 years.
yabasta
It is funny to see soembody in London say they will quit once they get to a place where ciggs are so much cheaper.

I don`t smoke but my wife does. I might start once i am in America and it will be cheaper. tongue.gif
almaty
no cigs for me...do smoke a pipe though..makes me look like a chopf##k huh.gif
Miranda&James
I did for a couple of years when I started college but never very heavily (maybe two or three a day on average, sometimes less or more).....and I have the miraculous ability to stop at any time I want.
de_sjiem
I dont smoke, but my husband does.. But he only smokes outside the house so that's good!
j&js

biwi
i've never smoked ... and nizzar quit last year
RussianGirl
I don't smoke. Never have, never will!
DouglasSheridan
Well...Im one of those 'start and stop' smokers.... but recently seem to have cut out the stopping LOL

I started at 12 stopped at 17 when I was pregnant, didnt start again till I was 21... then I stopped a few months later and now started again when my first hubby passed away... dunno why but it was a stupid lill comfort and gave me something to do...I know....*weird!*

I used to smoke a pack a day whilst waiting for the fiancee visa, but since I moved I smoke less and less..... the last ten packs of ciggies my hubby bought me, lasted me like 3 weeks, whilst his 10 last him just under one week! So........

Then again, my hubby is one of those that gets out of bed and before his feet even hit the floor has already lit a cigarette!
Sinergy
laughing.gif DouglasSheridan, Im the same as your hubby, as soon as i wake up its running out the back door for me (i never smoked in the house because of my kids), my day can NOT start until I have had my first cig and a cup of super strong coffee.

Never smoked, hubster smoked a wee bit years ago...

I tried cigarettes in highschool because all my friends picked up smoking. SOOOOOOO glad I stayed away from that. They're all hooked and I have fresh breath. It's so nice. My dad tries to quit every year. Then he starts chewing on these little cigars. Then he lights one and says "well it's better than a cigarette" and before we know it he's back on the marlboro's.
tom&tata
Neither of us smokes. Hubby does not smoke because he hates the smell (his mom smokes a lot), I do not smoke because I come from smoke-free family (I can't stand the smell).
Journey Completed
Less now I work in a smoke-free environment
lolo2358

Sounds like my dad...chews Nic gum; suck nic losenges; tokes stogies; takes zyban AND then has the nerve to chew, suck, toke and swallow all at the same time! I know... sounds kinda kinky, but the only thing left is to learn to spit!

I dont smoke, my husband does. I really HATE it. He's not allowed to smoke in the house now though, so he stands leaning half-way out the front door. Iowa winters are cold, but he doesnt complain too much, he knows my breathing can be weird at times so he respects my request. I really hope he quits, maybe when our Visa Journey is over, he's too stressed right now.

Or maybe when we're in England in April. We'll be staying with my parents and they are totally against smoking and he'll not be smoking anywhere near the house there, so that might help.

No kidding. I don't know what the prices are in London, but in Western Canada they're $6-9.50 for a pack. Down in Texas they're $1.50 to $4.25 per pack. I looked at the last time they raised the cigarette tax in Texas. It was 1991. laughing.gif They seem to raise it on an almost yearly basis here. They thought about raising the tax rate on it last year in Texas, but the right wing government said it would be too hard on the poor if they did (now that's strange to hear).

Oddly enough, Houston is one of the warmest cities in the USA....Smoking is allowed inside restaurants.
Vancouver is not crazy cold, but chilly enough in the winter time, and everybody goes outside.
Mr. Big Dog
I used to smoke. For 20 years. Had a few brief smoke-free periods in there but didn't really put them down until last August. Nani and I decided that we'll work on our first baby towards the end of last year and I put the smokes down a few months prior. Just don't want my kids to grow up amongst smokers as I did. no0pb.gif
Kajikit
No, never, icky... cigarette smoke is the foulest substance on earth and I can't imagine ever wanting to put it into my lungs even if I wasn't allergic to it!
PEGGY
Wow, I cant believe that someone could smoke 40 or 60 smokes a day. That is alot.

How can a person smoke so much if they are working.

We both smoke here. I smoke maybe 6 a day, Roger smokes about 20 a day.

I hate the smell of smoke first thing in the morning too. That just gags me and I am a smoker since 8th grade. I am now 42. Thats alot of smoking. crying.gif
*Marilyn*
I have never smoked but hubby does.... both his brothers smoke, his dad smokes and his aunt smokes tongue.gif.... He usually only smokes at work but sometimes if we are with his family on the weekends he will sneak in a cig or two tongue.gif

I really want him to quit.... I can't stand the smell of smoke and I get headaches from the smell too....
luvaLimey
I smoked for two years in high school, and quit nearly 12 years ago.

Good thing I did too, becuase my fiance can't stand cigarette smoke. wink.gif
KarenCee
I don't smoke...never have, and I guess it's a good thing since I have asthma. My babe smokes, but he's not a heavy smoker and he smokes outside. He says he wants to quit and I'm behind him. Either way, I'll love him forever luv.gif
MrMrsKnight
I don't smoke. Of course I've tried and all.... at parties and stuff but I never needed a cigarett and have never owned a pack or a lighter no0pb.gif
Dave started smoking when he came to Brazil because my mom smokes and it was just easy for him to have her cigarettes.... laughing.gif But then he stopped over a year ago and doesn't plan on starting again! no0pb.gif
kiwimcclung2
