Around where I live, it's mostly Russians, Europeans and Koreans who smoke. They are always hanging out by the side doors into the office. You'll probably get a lot of yes's.

I lmao at the third choice on the poll!

Yes I smoke - curse me - and I WILL give up - its just now, with the stress of everyting - is a bad time and I know I'd be setting myself up to fail. My SO has NEVER smoked, and he wants me to quit but he's not putting any overt pressure on..once I move I'm hoping the fact i can't go buy any (live miles from a store and can't drive) will be the deciding factor.

Started at 15-now I am 32........................I swore I was going to quit & then I started the K-1 process, sounds like an excuse but I am too stressed to quit at the moment. I think I would go postal if I quit now & believe me I am on edge already
Plan on kicking this addiction real soon(another reason USCIS should approve us)

Well...Im one of those 'start and stop' smokers.... but recently seem to have cut out the stopping LOL
I started at 12 stopped at 17 when I was pregnant, didnt start again till I was 21... then I stopped a few months later and now started again when my first hubby passed away... dunno why but it was a stupid lill comfort and gave me something to do...I know....*weird!*
I used to smoke a pack a day whilst waiting for the fiancee visa, but since I moved I smoke less and less..... the last ten packs of ciggies my hubby bought me, lasted me like 3 weeks, whilst his 10 last him just under one week! So........
Then again, my hubby is one of those that gets out of bed and before his feet even hit the floor has already lit a cigarette!

DouglasSheridan, Im the same as your hubby, as soon as i wake up its running out the back door for me (i never smoked in the house because of my kids), my day can NOT start until I have had my first cig and a cup of super strong coffee.

I tried cigarettes in highschool because all my friends picked up smoking. SOOOOOOO glad I stayed away from that. They're all hooked and I have fresh breath. It's so nice. My dad tries to quit every year. Then he starts chewing on these little cigars. Then he lights one and says "well it's better than a cigarette" and before we know it he's back on the marlboro's.

Neither of us smokes. Hubby does not smoke because he hates the smell (his mom smokes a lot), I do not smoke because I come from smoke-free family (I can't stand the smell).

Sounds like my dad...chews Nic gum; suck nic losenges; tokes stogies; takes zyban AND then has the nerve to chew, suck, toke and swallow all at the same time! I know... sounds kinda kinky, but the only thing left is to learn to spit!

I dont smoke, my husband does. I really HATE it. He's not allowed to smoke in the house now though, so he stands leaning half-way out the front door. Iowa winters are cold, but he doesnt complain too much, he knows my breathing can be weird at times so he respects my request. I really hope he quits, maybe when our Visa Journey is over, he's too stressed right now.
Or maybe when we're in England in April. We'll be staying with my parents and they are totally against smoking and he'll not be smoking anywhere near the house there, so that might help.

No kidding. I don't know what the prices are in London, but in Western Canada they're $6-9.50 for a pack. Down in Texas they're $1.50 to $4.25 per pack. I looked at the last time they raised the cigarette tax in Texas. It was 1991.

They seem to raise it on an almost yearly basis here. They thought about raising the tax rate on it last year in Texas, but the right wing government said it would be too hard on the poor if they did (now that's strange to hear).
Oddly enough, Houston is one of the warmest cities in the USA....Smoking is allowed inside restaurants.
Vancouver is not crazy cold, but chilly enough in the winter time, and everybody goes outside.

I used to smoke. For 20 years. Had a few brief smoke-free periods in there but didn't really put them down until last August. Nani and I decided that we'll work on our first baby towards the end of last year and I put the smokes down a few months prior. Just don't want my kids to grow up amongst smokers as I did.

Wow, I cant believe that someone could smoke 40 or 60 smokes a day. That is alot.
How can a person smoke so much if they are working.
We both smoke here. I smoke maybe 6 a day, Roger smokes about 20 a day.
I hate the smell of smoke first thing in the morning too. That just gags me and I am a smoker since 8th grade. I am now 42. Thats alot of smoking.
