My understanding is that the Philippines consulate in Chicago handles things for our state (Oklahoma).

We plan on sending in the report of marriage along with a new passport application, but I have a couple of questions:

1. Marlene's passport doesn't expire for a long time yet. Will they let us apply for a new passport instead of getting the current one amended? We want to be able to purchase tickets in her married name and an amendment won't change the name on the main page of the passport.

2. Has anyone else used the Chicago consulate and, if so, how long did it take to get everything done?
