I was reviewing the international phone plan I had with Cox Cable this past week and noticed they added a new calling plan for the Philippines.

With their international plus plan I had a monthly charge of $4.95 and then all my calls to the Philippines were .17/min landline and .21/min cell.

The new Philippines Destination Plan (Only allows calls to the Philippines) has a monthly charge of $8.95, but includes the first 60 calling minutes at no additional charge and thereafter .13/min for landline and .21/min for cell. Since Marlene generally calls the home phone at her parents house, this works out well for us.

Yes, I had the same plan with Cox, but unfortunately still ran up a huge bill...sigh.

What Jinky found is through Globelines (sp), she can purchase a card over there for 300 PHP and it will last for 120 minutes, so about 2.5 PHP per minute = (approx) 5 cents. But it jumps to 10 PHP when she calls using her cell phone even to my landline.

I've been trying to find a reliable phone card to call her but most of them SUCK monkey ballz! The connection quality is hit and miss and almost all of them now charge a tax per call.
