How much would it typically cost to get a foreign birth certificate professionally translated? It's not very wordy, if that helps!

Free if you do it yourself. If you are fluent that is.

I am, but I don't think most businesses/govt & state agencies accept a personal translation.

Neptune, the USCISC accepts translations from those fluent in English and the foreign language:

11.3 Foreign Language Documents and Translations.
(a) Document Translations. All documents submitted in support of an application or petition must include complete translation into English. In addition, there must be a certification from the translator indicating that the translation is complete and accurate and attesting to his or her competence as a translator. See 8 CFR 103.2(cool.gif(3). - http://www.uscis.gov/lpbin/lpext.dll/inser...ument-frame.htm

If you feel you can do the translation, you should type this:

I've read about many VJers who have translated their birth certificates themselves for AOS and had no problems.
