Maybe a lot of the students in the class will be younger but I will bet you are not the only one in their 20s - and suspect you may also have students older than you in the class as well:-). I have a good friend who did not learn to drive until her 50s so don't worry about the age thing. Enjoy your class and enjoy the experience of learning to drive. You and your husband are smart to have you learn to drive at a driving school.

My husband is 29 and about to apply for his first ever driver's license. Also my Mom has a Scottish friend who didn't start driving until she was in her 40's. So yes, there are some folks out there getting off to a "late start" by American standards.

My fiancé is 29. Usually took the bus in Brazil. Did not have a drivers license, but said she could drive. Well, sort of. She is a long way from being able to drive in the U.S.!

I never drove until I was 32 and a single parent. My friend gave me lessons from a driving school as a gift. She told me, "It doesn't matter if you drive on a long trip. One day, you'll want to just go to McDonalds or somewhere with your kids and not have to ask anyone for a ride." I asked the instructor if I was his oldest student, and he said, "Heck no! Among the people I teach who aren't high school, you're about the YOUNGEST!"

Marlene is 40 and has never driven before. She went to driving school this month and is just now learning. Public transportation was much more convenient where she lived before.

the same for me in my country Public transportation was very convenient to me too.

I am 31 and have never had a license either. I have my drivers permit so i have pretty much been driving everywhere when my wife is with me. I am taking 6 hours training with a qualified instructor before i go in for my driving test.

Good luck

My wife never drove before. She got her learner's permit. A lot of good that is doing. tongue.gif

She is 32 and I wont and I still refused to teach her how to drive without a driving course. It can be pretty hard on the marriage.

so dont worry about your age. I am sure the driving schools get all ages

i know lots of ppl who didn't get their licenses until they were in their 20s & 30s. my hubby's aunt got hers in her 40s. my sister was 24.
the last time i was at the DMV, all i saw were people in their 30s and older taking their driving test. from chatting with a few, i found that many MANY were new to the country and had gone to driving school.
don't worry about it. just be confident and i am sure you will do well.
best of luck! good.gif smile.gif
