Can anyone tell me how I can get an emergency AP?

My NOA has a August 10 notice date. So far nothing is happening. My service center is MSC. At the end of September, I will need to go abroad for some academic reason. As I am a PhD student I need to carry out a field work. It would be absolutely catastrophic if I miss this. How can I get an emergency AP?


Can you suggest some ideas?

It is unlikely you would get an emergency AP for that reason... they are normally only given if it is a matter of life and death.... it you have an immediate relative who is dying.... and then you need to have evidence from a doctor or hospital or funaral home if the person has died...

But to apply you need to go to your local office with another completed form and your evidence and they will make a disission there and then....

I got my emergency AP by making an InfoPass appointment with the local office (in my case, Seattle) and taking a letter from my Mom's doctor with me.

I was approved that same day and left with my AP documents.

I'm not sure if they will approve you for the reason you need AP, but all you can do is try.

Don't forget to take two photos with you to the InfoPass appointment or else they can't process your AP.

You probably shouldn't have filed for AOS until after you travelled abroad for your coursework. Its unlikely you'll get an emergency AP for any other reason than "dying relative".
