Hi, I was wondering if the consulate keeps all the photos, NSO birth cert, etc after the interview or do they give it back? Do you have to ask for it back or do they do this automatically? Thank you.

If you provided originals with your application, they may keep them.

When you provide photocopies of documents, then all they need is to see the original and then they give it back to you and keep the photocopy in your file.

If you have photocopies of the original documents, take them with you, and ask them for the originals back and provide them with the photocopies for your file.

Good luck.

So if she brings a photo copy of her birth cert as well as the original, will they give her back the original birth cert and just keep the photocopy instead? Is that what you mean?
