I am filing a K-1, K-2 visa. My fiance is in Russia. We know that the childs father must give permission for the child to immigrate to the U.S.

What does the letter need to say?

What do we need to verify the letter is real?

Is this permission letter to leave Russia or enter the U.S.?

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Ed

My understanding is that this is whatever is required by the beneficiary's country to give him/her permission to leave the country with the child.

In our case, we require a notorized letter from the father stating that he is allowing this. That is what we have.
