Paul (pcraddy here on vj) flew out of Newcastle airport this morning. He had no problem taking the MSE and even a hard disk of his pc through security. He said it all went fine.

He's boarding in Amsterdam as we speak, ready to go and I'll be meeting him in Detroit tonight. As soon as we get home from Detroit later this weekend I'm sure he'll let everyone know how immigration treated him, the process, etc.

To everyone out there waiting - it's worth it.

Paul even had overweight luggage but they didn't charge him. I love KLM...well, as much as you can love any airline.

Oh man, I hope we make PF Changs too...lettuce wraps here I come. I'm too nervous to eat much before he gets here anyway so I'll be starving once he's safe and sound.

But if we don't make it, it's not what really matters, is it?

PS - Don't be surprised if they charge him for the overweight luggage once he gets stateside. British Airways didn't charge us either but when we hit customs in the US, American caught it.

Just been unpacking Paul's luggage after a lovely night in Troy, Michigan with dinner at PF Changs....I'm just ruined for all other chinese cuisine.

Paul's flight got in about 30 minutes late thanks to a hold up in Amsterdam when they had to unload the luggage of someone who didn't show up, but other than that, it was smooth sailing. He'll be writing all about it, right now we're just shaking our heads....we made it. It's a very surreal feeling to know no we won't be heading back to the airport to say goodbye again.
