concerning the K1-visa interview: is it better if the us-fiance is present or better not? does it make a difference. thanks for your suggestions

Hi, it is not really necessary that he is there. You just do not feel so bored. It took me around 5 1/2 hours just waiting and waiting and waiting. The real interview was just around 5 minutes and the questions are very easy. Good luck on your journey. Most Consulates allow the U.S. fiance to be present at the interview, but it is not mandatory or necessary. The choice is yours. I had my U.S. fiance with me at my interview, and it just made me feel a little more relaxed.

ich habe keine angst vor dem interview und den fragen an sich, ich sehe mich als guten einwanderungskandidaten an der nichts zu verbergen hat. nur der papierkram macht mir sorgen, ich hoffe ich habe dann alles perfekt zusammen.

oh sorry for not writing english, ok i will go to the interview by myself, we want to safe some money and therefore my fiance will not fly to germany, we will just have to wait for my visa and then we will see us when I fly over. we already waisted so much money on attorney, grrrrr!

The presence of the petitioner at fiance interview is optional. About 90 percent of fiance visa interviews take place without the petitioner being present.

I went to my fiance's interview. It was a great experience. The embassy welcomed me there and was happy to see me. My fiance felt more relaxed. The interview was only 4 questions. We were not asked to produce any evidence of an ongoing relationship. (Too bad we had a big 3 inch binder full of evidence with us and we didn't get to show it off.... )

I notice that alot of things get made to seem very easy, simple or not important when most people respond to questions. Here is somethings I think need to be taken in to account...

1. Seems like all the interviews that go really easy are when the Beneficiary is posting in English about how easy the interview went. One thing to take notice of is that most all of those saying this are from larger, well developed countries in Europe or Canada and they speak english.

2. If you are 50 and your fiancee is 20 and your relationship is truly a loving relationship. You better have plenty of evidence or go ahead and be there to show you two ARE doing this together.

3. If your fiancee is not a very estute individual used to dealing with contracts, forms or other business they may get a little overwhelmed with the visa process as compared to us americans dealing with tax forms, credit card apps and so many other types of paperwork we see every day.

In other words if your situation is comparable to those giving the advice then take it. But if your situation differs, possibly in the way I have mentioned maybe you should put some more effort into doing all that you possibly can. It can only help.
