YAY Stellar!! The BIIIIIIIIIIIG wait is now over for you guys, hopefully. My head has finally stopped spinning at the speed that our K1 moved once it got out of CSC!!!
Now it's time for the real stress on the non-USC, you feel soooo responsible and want to make sure you have every little detail correct for the interview. BTW the medical and the interview is a breeze so don't stress over it, unlike some ppl around here!!

Welcome Aleidayn, as you enter I am about to exit for a little while, til we start stressing over the next stage of our journey after we get married. Good luck to you and everyone on their journey and keep in mind the reward at the end of it is well worth it!!!

Thanks guys

I'm in NSW, Sydney way. Lol, young, I dunno. I've just turned 30 and James is 24. I'm lucky to still have him over in Sydney for a few months more through this whole waiting thing. I read about a lot of people being so far apart and I feel really lucky to still have that at the moment.
We were pondering at first whether to go the whole lawyer route but after I discovered this site it helped a whole lot to know exactly what we needed to do and yeah, the lawyer idea went out the window. Waiting for the NOA1 was hard enough, I'm trying not to get addicted to checking the case status lol, it's easy to do

. Instead we're saving money, planning a wedding of sorts and waiting it out as everyone has to. Yep, definitely worth it

hi ya all
was just thinking of telling ale (sorry to shorten ya name but i cant remember how to spell it lol lazy i know) about DCF... the only thing on the DCF that is annoying is you already paid the I129f fee and you have to pay around $500 or so US on the day of the interview...when does your guy go back to the states...an yeah you lucky thing you do look young for your age....
take care

Apr 15 2006, 03:52 AM
Hiya, you can just call me Ally, much easier

Yeah we are currently thinking about DCF now a bit more seriously but we don't have a lot of extra money to spend. If things arent too bad we may be able to do that instead. After all, the sooner the better!
James is on an ETA which as you probably know is valid for 12 months with 3 month maximum stays, renewing upon reentry into the country so technically, June but it's possible he will be here a bit longer. We don't know much about the whole DCF process though. We're waiting for the approval on the I-129F, so I'm not sure what would happen with that.

If he's already in Oz...I see NO reason why you shouldn't just do it

It literally cuts MONTHS off of the process. I sent you a PM - talk to you soon!

We're official!!!

Freaking out here a little bit...
I rang aussie post today to see if the visas had been sent by the embassy as yet. No they hadn't. Okay so I sent them an email asking if they had any idea as to when they would be, as I had to finalise payment on airline tickets etc...
I know, I know, we had easter so there will be a delay, I wish I never emailed now or am hoping that someone will say, without hesitation, that the response I got from them this afternoon is just a canned response...
This is the answer I got: "YOUR APPLICATION IS CURRENTLY WITH THE CONSULAR OFFICER FOR FINAL ADJUDICATION. ONCE HE HAS APPROVED YOUR APPLICATION FOR ISSUANCE, THE VISA WILL BE ISSUED AND MAILED TO YOU."
THANK YOU
Sincerely,
Visa Assistant
Immigrant Visa Unit
U.S. Consulate General
Sydney, Australia
I thought we had already been approved??? What does this mean?
Kath
Apr 18 2006, 05:48 AM
hi kaffy
well i would read it as .. the person who is sticking your visa's in your passport hasnt done yours yet ...dont forget it can take up to 5 to 8 days to get it mate...if you go back into the archives or this thread some had to wait that long mate...
so dont worry too much shame ya couldnt of stayed a day extra to pick it up mate...would of helped with the stress levels...
take care

Kaffy, Yeah it's like people that work at these places are slightly psychopathic with no empathy for others.
Did you try posting on the main board to see if any others have had this experience? S'pose you did.
There is those phone numbers I posted for Kath for the embassies, but they cost ya a bit.
They sure know how to stress people, just when you felt home free.
I'm sure it is just a canned response, as you say, and everything will be fine,
Stella.

Hey guys, I really hope what you are saying is what is happening. I feel like I am back in that damn 'limbo' again. I mean really, they could of just said we are a lazy bunches of a$$holes and it is taking time for us to get around to putting it in the envelope, that would be something I would of rathered read. Not that it is awaiting approval...
Mike has been great, trying to keep my spirits up and you are all probably right, but as well as being an organisation freak, I also stress a lot and this has zoomed my levels to all new highs.

It's like when you have lived with pain for ages, then it's gone for a while and suddenly it comes back, it's harder to cope with.
So back in the land of limbo again, for the time being, not knowing if I should take the risk and pay the rest on the airline tickets and keep selling my stuff or hold off and try to be superwoman and get it all done in a couple of weeks.
And after having said all that, the damn things will prolly arrive tomorrow.

No fair! I would have guessed it if I had been online this weekend.
Ok lots of good stuff to report for this Aussie/American Duo!!!!
1. We moved into our new condo - We've never owned anything this big before...so exciting...Last night as we were eating dinner, I was like, "Did you ever truly imagine we'd have our own place and actually be TOGETHER?" We never thought we'd be able to do this...it's amazing. The condo is PERFECT. as our wedding gift, my aunt and my mom decorated and furnished the WHOLE PLACe. It's awesome. The bad part is that we don't have cable yet and WONT until May 2nd. Boo. AND since we are getting internet through cable...that also means no internet at home. On the bright side we are enjoying no TV and internet...it's not so bad

2. yesterday Stewart got a job!!! He was offered a job as a pharmacy technician at CVS. It's not the one he wanted but today he's going to call in to the one he DOES want and say, "Hey, i have a job offer...what's the deal." THe good thing is, either way, he has a job

he's soooo happy. I think he was feeling kinda worthless in a way...which is silly I think, but I guess I can see where he's coming from.
Jodie - you'll get something soon

I'll keep the MOJO coming!!
Not long now Cathy!!!!! I'm so stoked for you guys.
XOXOXOXO
Caroline
