hi ya hollywood

take a look at the guidelines below...see if that answers your question....your doing CR1 and im not too sure if you guys do send anything back to the consulate...also take a look at HAMPSTERS posts i think he posted some stuff on his journey mate...if you have already got your interview date i reckon you dont have to send anything back cos the forms that the K1'ers send back is stating they are ready for an interview to be set..

CR1 guide lines

if the guidelines dont answer your question go into the CR1 forum and ask them or read some of their posts mate...

Hello Everyone...

I'm glad you all are enjoying the PB & J post but what happend to all the Vegemite lovers???? Hahaha!

I do have a question for you all....I know I have talked to some of you in personal messages regarding an issue that can be rather devastating to Rons (my aussie bloke) journey to the US...I am trying to gather some info regarding what type/s of criminal history will affect his admission into the states....Unfortunatley he was a rather bad boy at a young age and most of his history is if from when he was 18 and younger with a drinking and driving charge when he was 21(jail time). Arrrgggg Naughty Ron...Anyways i've looked on the USICS site and it doesnt go into great detail, just more or less what he needs to do (fingerprints sent off to Sydney) and gather (court records). Altho it mentions some things in brief regarding charges/convictions, it doesnt mention a whole lot about it....I'm guessing approval must also be based off how much time has passed and wheather or not they feel like youve been rehabilated (see what I mean, not enough info).... Hes already sent off his fingerprints (thinking that we were going to follow a journey that some ding bat lawyer gave us, anyways a long story..just glad i found this site) .... and we will be looking for any court records for when he will have his interview (when ever that day should arrive)...I know alot of this may seem premature seeings how were not even engaged yet..but its in the works (we've actually discussed what journey we should take and we both seem to agree on us marrying over in Australia) ...I just need to get some sort of answers to this issue...I'm seriously worried it will affect his POE...He is all lax about it seeings how most of his history was before he was 18 but I'M NOT....I need some sort of resolve and I know that I may not get it till he's actually at the POE and they let him thru...Also what about the interview...if they dont think he has a chance of entering the states will they even approve his visa????(I wouldnt think so) OR just leave it up to when he gets to the POE??? I need more details..the information I have found is less than acceptable for feeling satisfied about this issue..Pheww I worked up a hunger with all this worrying....I NEED A PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY SANDWHICH...Hahahaha!!!!

Take care to all...

Hi everyone,

I am a little stressed as my husband just told me he saw a form in the package we just received, and it states that I need to get a police certificate from Japan because I lived there for more than 6 mths (353 days to be exact)!!

But NVC states "IF the applicant lived in a different country for more than 12 months AND was 16 years or older at that time THEN the applicant need a police certificate form the police authorities of that locality".

I am so stressed!! To obtain a certificate from the Japanese consulate here in MEL will take up to 3 mths, we are now looking at flights to Tokyo so it can be done in 3 weeks, hopefully in time for my interview!! I have emailed the Sydney Consulate, now I am just waiting for a reply. Has anyone else needed a certificate from anonther country where they have lived at least 6mths

Hi all,

thanks for all your words and thoughts, as always you people are wonderful. Thought I should share my experience entering the States, I know some of you are veterans and know all about it but for what it's worth, if it helps anyone prepare this is how it went for me:

I got letters from both my employer and my real estate agent stating that I'm employed and have paid rent until the end of June and am expected back in the country. i am glad I got those done, but as it turns out they haven't moved from where I packed them. Entry into the States through LA airport was a lot smoother than I feared it might be. Coming off the plane I was shuffled through the visitors section of the entry station, the guy there checked my passport and my arrival slip. He asked if I was here for business or for a holiday and then waved me through. I picked up my baggage from the carousel and then went and lined up at the second customs point. The lady there asked me a few basic questions beginning with my reason for visiting America. I told her up front that I was visiting my wife, and that led to a few questions about where Rings lives and is she a US Citizen. She asked me what I do for a living and when I told her she seemed to assume I would be okay because she then said "Okay, so I guess you can't really stay for too long if you have to get back to work." I agreed (what else am I going to do, haha). Then she asked if I had any food and that was the only time I even got a little nervous because I didn't want her to confiscate Rings' 850 grams of Cherry Ripe! (She's eating one now, it's the only reason I was allowed in the house when I arrived). For anyone starting to work it out that's 10 king size bars...I'm hoping to get a bite myself but not with any real confidence.

Anyway, that's pretty much it for the entry thing, they rushed me through when they realised I was cutting it fine for my connecting flight to Denver (QANTAS was a little late getting in) and I raced up the stairs to the domestic part of terminal 4 with an American airport employee standing at the bottom yelling "Run, run!" I'm glad he didn't add "Forrest", that would have killed me. And now I'm here hoping that two weeks will somehow pass like two months, even though I know it will be over in about 5 minutes. Denver is a beautiful place and I am going to love it here.

Hope you all are well and that those of you going through this process are either getting through smoothly or finding solutions to the myriad of obstacles that present themselves. We are fretting on our NOA2, but hopefully it will come without any hassle when the time is right.

I have to go, there's this sexy lady who deserves as much attention as I can give her....
sharyna
not going well... am very anxious and well just anxious.....
i think i just exhaust myself with the whole thinking and waiting gig......

whoever thought you would get so stressed on just the waiting.. the first month ok... 2nd month..ok i can do this... 3rd month.... ummm

but congrats to all who are doing well and recieving their NOA2's..
jezz85
Hi Sharyna!

I'm sorry its taking so long to get your NOA2 buddy sad.gif It shouldn't be long now, like you said, people that filed at similar times to you are starting to get theres. Take heart, this too will pass.

Have you begun to get anything together like police certificate or vaccination history or affidavit of support in preparation? If not, you could always start those processes to get your mind off your delayed NOA2.

Best of luck! It won't be long!
CarolineM
Rings and Loke: CONGRATS!!! What a great reunion and a nice photo! ENjoy your time together!

Cheese and Kisses: I don't know all the specifics, but I can tell you this...August two summers ago, Stew got a DUI here in the states. We submitted all the paperwork and everything at our interview, and we were told it was NOT a crime of Moral Turpitude...they didn't even look at any of it...no worries...That's just my experience. I spent the 3 months leading up the interview asking EVERYWHERE here what a DUI would do, and no one knew, so there you go smile.gif Hope that helps
vylex
Congrats Rings and Loke on your reunion!

I know EXACTLY how you felt. Enjoy your time together. I'm sure we won't hear back from you two for a while. devil.gif

I just did the opposite to visit the wifey in Sydney. Unfortunately I am back to work but need to earn a living (until I win the lottery haha). I'll be back visiting her again though in 3 months so I am excited to look forward to that.

I'm also glad to hear you didn't have any problems getting in the country. Have a wonderful time. Colorado is a BEAUTIFUL state. I have family just outside of Denver. I definitely think you will enjoy living there. Just be ready for the winter. smile.gif

Other people will probably know better, but I am starting to work on that stuff myself...I haven't done the police check yet but if I remember rightly it is valid for at least 6 months, maybe 12. So as long as your interview date comes before the expiry of the police check you should be okay to get it done - I'm going to get mine organised as soon as I can when I return to Melbourne.

I saw my doctor about vaccinations, and he had some details in his own records and got me to have a blood test (serology report) for others he wasn't sure about. For some that he knew I wouldn't be vaccinated against he just wrote me a prescription and I've been getting jabbed ahead of the medical to try to save some time. I'm doing a course of jabs for Hep A and B (I think) that involves 3 doses over 6 months so if you're going to have that done its probably a good idea to get started asap.

Good luck with it all, it looks like you are on a similar timeframe to us and we are getting edgy about not hearing anything too. My head tells me that we shouldn't be worrying too much just yet, but I know how difficult it is to stay composed when you have to wait so long for any sign of progress. fingers crossed neither of us are waiting too much longer.
jezz85
Getting vaccinated by your regular doctor will be cheaper too...

Also, the national police certificate is valid for 12 months you guys will be happy to hear.

Additionally, the Hep vaccinations are NOT neccessary for the medical, but hey, they're still a good idea. I've had my first one.
girlfrmoz
Glad you are having a wonderful time Rings and Loke! I didn' think there would be any issues with Loke getting into the USA. Hey and nice pic!

Mmmmm wonder when we will hear from Hammy??? biggrin.gif

Hey Sharyna, hang in there...we had a long wait too so I know what it's like. It's hard but it does go quickly and believe me it is all worth it in the end. You can come in here anytime and we will support you.

Hugs yes.gif

sharyna
thankyou guys!! for your support!!
i'll go to my doctors asap to get started and find out what vaccinations i need.....

you get blood tests to see if you ammune...get it put on medicare...then get your doc to print out and sign the results of the tests for you to take with you to the medical..also save anything the pathologist gives you as receipts at what date you had it taken...also they have to sight your passport and a form to be signed too..
hope its not too much longer before you get your NOA2...

ok...

i read in someone's post - kath i think it was .... i was reviewing all your posts for any helpful links...
and i noticed that it was said that a fee had to be paid for the biometrics.....
is that for the K1 visa? 129F?....
because we sent in the 126f form as well as the 325a form (if thats the right letter or number)..... and paid the initial fee that is stated on the uscis website...
is there more?

i know i have to pay a fee at the embassy for processing?

........

oh and tomorrow am heading to the medical clinic to get a referral for the blood tests......
and next week will start on the police checks.....

hopefully this will nudge it all and make it move quicker!
Kath
hands sharyna a slap stick..

in what context did i use the word biometrics ... your biometrics fee is for fingerprints only relating to AOS after you get over here and get married mate..

the fee you have to pay at the embassey is $130AU money paid at any australia post office..did you find the vaccination sheet i was referring to before to help you ask what you need to be tested for mate...

Oh, one more thing to add to my post. I just received an email notice it was transferred to the CSC for processing (reason for touch). I hear they are a big Service Center so I hope it means processing will be done soon. I posted a question on the IR-1 / CR-1 forum about procedures when this happens. A member replied and said it gets queued along with the people for the same NOA1 date. Since Poi_n_J and I have close dates as far as NOA1s are concerned, I hope it means that it will be processed within this month *FINGERS CROSSED*.

Hi all,

We just received the following email from the Sydney. I do not need a police certificate from Japan. Thank goodness as I was not in the mood for flying to Tokyo for a few days!! Also, they did not explain as to why they sent a letter stating I needed this certificate because I lived overseas for more than 6 mths. I definately will be bringing this up at my interview!! They also stated that I indicated I lived in Japan for more than 12mths. Perhaps they should rewrite the forms to allow you to write specific dates. ie mm/dd/yy to mm/dd/yy and not just mm/yy to mm/yy?!

Anyway, thanks again for all your advice about this!

email from the consulate -

To have sent her the Japanese police certificate she would have noted
on
her biographic data, form DS-230 Part 1 that she resided in Japan for a
year.

If she did not live in Japan for 12mths or longer, she should not apply
for one, however, as she has already indicated that she did live for a
year in Japan, she should bring all passports with her, specifically
the
one used for entry into and departure from Japan, in the event the
consular officer would like to verify the exact length of time spent in
Japan.

Thank you.
Sincerely,
Visa Assistant

what date are you going for your interview again..will ya put it in your signature for us ....

safe journey back to the oz if ya not already there lol...and i hope all goes well for you at the interview...

Hi Kath and all VJER’S.

Well I SURVIVED the 5 flight connections
Adelaide – Sydney

Sydney –Taipei

Taipei – LAX

LAX - Cleveland, Ohio

Cleveland Ohio - Providence, Rhode Island.

Nearly 41 hours of flying.

LAX POE. WAS A FRIGGIN NIGHTMARE

Flight landed in LAX. 19.10pm Thursday Night

With a Connecting Flight @ 11.15pm Thursday Night,

To Cleveland, Ohio then onto Providence, Rhode Island.

Walked through to the Immigration Lines with the Mysterious Brown Envelope,

And Passport Was told to go to the end Line next to # 8 Desk,

and as I look down towards the Line after # 8 Desk

There was about 40 people in front of me ffs,

They where mostly from the Philippine’s people on k1's

(I asked a few of them what sort of visa's)
Everyone I talkded too was on a K1.

There was 1 Immigration Officer doing the Fingerprints,
and getting people to sign the paperwork Another guy was there sitting down
next to the other one doing the above things The guy sitting down was handed the M.B.E.
by the Officer dealing with the new Immigrants. When handed the M.B.E'S he just ripped them open and sorted/checked the paperwork Then put them in a pile.
By the time I got through to the Front of the line it was.22.15pm
Remembering I had a connecting flight @ 23.15 Departure
And I said to him that I indeed had a Connecting flight in 45 minutes,
He said oh ok just give us your right index fingerprint,
and sign these forms and collect your luggage from the carousel.
By that time the P.A System let everyone know that the carousel's had been emptied,
from previous flights & as there had been 20+ flights after mine landed.
And we where told that they had been dumped/placed inbetween carousels
So off I go to try to find my checked luggage & found it inbetween # 5 and # 6
Carousel's.. was hoping nothing got damaged
in my Checked as I was carrying some South Australian wine and a couple coffee mugs.
So I go find a Trolley and took it back to the immigration desk &
He said leave the checked bags and go sit in this seated area next to the Counter,
where they where doing the paperwork.
It was full of most of the people that where infront of me waiting for their,
names to be called out to get their paperwork and passport and be on their way
But if they go through the line and &;
NOT HAVE ALL THEIR CORRECT PAPERWORK...
They get taken to a room which is "Guarded" by a Immigration Officer,
and told to wait there until they can resolve the missing document problem

So by this time I have 38 Minutes to Make my Connecting flight and when the
CONNECTION COUNTDOWN got to 28 minutes,
my named was called and the he handed me my passport back,
which he stamped and signed with AOS DATE of May 9th ;2009
I said thanks and then bolted with my luggage in tow on a trolley,
then outside my departure lounge found a SMOKING room,
after I checked my 2 cases in.I HAD 10 MINUTES TO FIT IN 2 SMOKES
AFTER BEING ON A NEARLY 12 HOUR FLIGHT FROM
TAIPEI, I WAS HANGING SOOOO BAD FOR A SMOKE.

Then I get to Cleaveland Ohio at 6.35am Thursday and was told well
only 45 minutes before boarding and the only area you can smoke is in the furthest end of the airport
and 2 security checks.. so..story in a nutshell
no smoking till 9.40am Thursday when I arrived in Providence Rhode Island..
So I get of the plane and rushed to checked baggage claim,
Then go security xrays and a possible frisk search.. lol
and then out to see if Cheryl had arrived to greet& kiss me and drive us both home.
Half a step out the door of the airport and I got a smoke in my mouth,
And about to light it up.. when I saw a Couple of Rhode Island State Troopers,
Looking at me funny ......walking from the carpark across from the entrance
and was my Cheryl ..
she crossed the crosswalk and we just hugged and kissed lots..
once we got back from the airport..to.. drop off my luggage,
we went out shopping for some deck furniture.. a couple chairs and a small table..

By 8pm I was gone for all Money.. Jet lag had set in..
I started snoring and woke myself up lmao
We also went and applied for my SSN# TODAY and was only 5 people in the office waiting.
They said about 4 - 10 working days for it to arrive in the post.... yippeeee

FINALLY.... FINALLY I AM HERE WITH MY WIFEE,
Cheryl in Massachusetts.

Cheers
to one and all

Paul & Cheryl

Hi Kath! Yes back at work and missing the wifey again but we see each other everyday so that helps. We have lots of wedding planning to be done still so that keeps me bust (and her stressed hehe).

I told her about the touch on the I-130 and it made her feel better (me too).

Hampster! Congrats but why the long connections? Was it that much cheaper to fly like that? Jeez man, if I had known it was that rough I would have suggested you to fly in to JFK in NY or Newark in NJ and offered to drive you to Mass from there! In any case, glad you made it! Congrats on your long awaited reunion and heaps of thanks for all the info you have posted in this thread. I am definitely going to use yours and Kath's notes. :-)

We are trying to prepare our selfs for the journey and learn as much as we can.
He has a Dr.s appointment Tuesday for some other things I told him to inquire about immunizations and blood work and all that crud ive been reading about from everone else dealing with it..again I know all a bit premature as of yet but i'm just one of those types that likes to know and prepare ahead of time hoping that when its time, it will all run a bit smoother..
Weve talked alot this week about how/what journey we want to follow and he said so now what?.. and I just told him ...Just listen to me boy and do what I say..hahahaha..Anyways I gave him a couple of goals this week and so far so good..Wooohoooo...First and most important at this point is just saving up the money to get me over there and mean while why he's doing that I come on here and try to prepare us...

IM SO GLAD I FOUND THIS PLACE ..its been a blessing.

Wow..lots of people getting-er-done...CONGRATS to all.

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO HAMMMY

GAWD ITS GOOD TO HEAR YOU ARRIVED SAFELY...

NOW I THINK ANYONE THINKING OF GOING ON CHINA AIRLINES WILL HAVE SECOND THOUGHTS WHEN THEY ARE IMMIGRATING HUH HAMMY

SORRY YOU HAD SUCH AN ORDEAL .. PROBABLY COS IT WAS CHINA AIRLINES...

don't fly china airlines... treasure your life....
hampster
Hiya Kath good.gif

Yeah good to be back on the ground ffs.. kicking.gif
Not really the Airline's Fault..
the people in front of me in the line was from another Airline,
That landed about 30 minutes before mine did..
So I was basically only 3rd in line from my flight,
as I boogied on down the walkway to Immigration,
and basically anyone with in arms distance that tried to get in front
of me ....would have ending up on their Behinds lmao blush.gif
As I was not in the mood to wait inline all friggin night,
especially not having a ciggy for nearly 12 hours..
I was craving bigtime for a smoke wacko.gif .

The meals wasn't bad on China Airlines..
For lunch I had rice and beef and blackbean meal.. not too shabby lol
the plane was jammed to the rafters though .. so no empty rows,
for me to sneak a stretch out in on the way to LAX..
I am Upset though Kath.. cray5ol.gif
I thought since I landed in Cleveland, Ohio..
You would have been at the airport to show support
for a fellow Aussie.. like waving the Aussie flag from the car park as I flew out hehehe.
I got about 3-4 hours sleep from Lax - Cleaveland Ohio but woke up,
as we went sideways with a huge blast of turbulence blink.gif .
So basically in 48 hours from leaving my Sisters Place,
In Sydney to when I touched down in Providence Rhode Island,
I was awake for 45 hours there abouts..
I feel great now had a 8 hour straight sleep on Thursday night,
the day I Arrived in Massachusetts..
And had a good night sleep Friday Night as well.
And Finally.. My System is Free from Airline Food and Their PEANUTS eb0dfafc.gif ..
NUFF SAID ON THAT SUBJECT LMAO helpsmilie.gif

So Kath Howdy Neighbour good.gif

Cheers

Paul

Hi Priscilla, how's your journey going? Hanging in there I hope! star_smile.gif

I just tried one of those 7 layers of dip thingys from Taco Bell (minus the sour cream) OMG they are yummy.....mmmmmm
Moonie
WOW Hampster you sure had an experience. I did not find LAX pleasant when I arrived there after leaving Australia and I had no immigration issues to deal with. I missed my connecting flight. mad.gif

But 41 plus hours I would not have been able to do that. wacko.gif My trip to Australia was like 22 hours and when I arrived in Australia the lady in customs was so rude to me and offensive and I was so tired after that long trip to deal with that. mad.gif She asked me if used drugs if my mother used drugs blink.gif she went all through my bags. I had CD's for my boyfriend and she was like why do you have these CD's I don't see a CD player blink.gif A man standing in line said hello to me and she saw that and later after I got away from her evil behind he said you know she came up to me and asked me if I knew you. blink.gif I will never forget her name MARIA. mad.gif I so wanted to curse her out!!!!!!!!! ranting33va.gif But I didn't want to get pulled aside for a body search. unsure.gif Till this day I don't know why she picked on me. I should have asked for a supervisor even her co-workers was looking at her like why is she bothering this woman.

I hope when my sweetie comes he does not have a welcoming into this country like I had into his. We are planing for him to come 6/8. We had planned on 5/26 but his family wants to throw him a party and they can't do it before that date.

This time last year I was sleeping with my sweetheart...I miss him. heart.gif

hi ya vylex

you having another wedding over here are ya.. good on ya's...what date is that all happening...i do hope the transfers makes it quicker for you mate...

kath

Hi Kath,

Thanks! I hope it means it will be processed soon. Apparently a few others from the VSC also received notice of transfers to the CSC.

The Church wedding will be in good 'ol Sydney. Part of the reason I went back to Oz was to take care of Church related items and other wedding tasks.

It will be a destination wedding for my side of the family. I am also remotely helping my wife as best I can. I am coordinating invitations for her US family as well as whatever can be done via the internet. I still chase down the wedding vendors from here. For some reason or other they respond when I am calling (maybe the US accent LOL).

LOL, Steve Irwin was THE Australian icon. He replaced Crocodile Dundee a long time ago. laughing.gif Everyone was affected heavily with his death. I can't say how many lives he has touched through his shows on Animal Planet on TV. So many little kids were infected by his "Crikey!" term.

In any case, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL YOU MOTHER'S! It's my first year greeting TWO mothers! biggrin.gif

Paul

Steve Erwin was such an icon here, When He died about 10-15 people asked me if I was going home to his funeral.

What are your first impressions of Boston?

Wow you didnt have to wait long for you SSN#, at least as soon as you get that you can go and get your state id card or license

take care

Happy Mothers Day Everyone!

Paul I am still waiting for my SSN and I applied over a week ago. I also get asked about Steve Irwin all the time too..that and am I British! lol

Cheese and Kisses, you can have your blood tests to check your immunisation if you don't have your history. You could also get your STD checks done with your local doctor, Kath that's right isn't it??

Moonie sorry to hear you had such a hardtime at LAX..I was lucky when I went through but Immigration were smart A's with me when I went through JFK.

Vylex when is your wedding date?

Well I am off to see the Giants Basball Game today in Denver and the weather is perfect...Jake has taken the top of the jeep so I guess I will have big hair (like Fran Drescher, the nanny) by the time i get there laughing.gif oh well who cares.

Have a great day!
Lyndel
