I was surprised when I opened my mailbox today and found the 129F Approval notice. The website still has not updated and the receipt date on the I-129F was August 4th.

When our I-130 was approved with a receipt date of August 4th, I thought we would just do the IR-1 and forget the K-3. The timelines showed the K-3 still 2 months away. Now, we are in a bit of a predicament.

I'll be leaving for Korea tomorrow for 3 weeks, and then going to Thailand to visit Prem for a week. I just ordered my previous 3 years of Tax Transcripts, just to be extra careful, and they will arrive while I'm gone. I do have last years taxes, but I have not gotten them notorized. I'll take them with me and see if I can find a notary in Korea or Thailand. That way I can make sure Prem has all of packet 3 for both Visa's before I leave her again.

Well, the next month is going to be interesting. I'll check with NVC tomorrow morning and see if they received my I-130. If they receive that, then I'll speak to an operator to check on the I-129F. If they don't receive either form tomorrow, then I'll really anticipate them arriving by next Tuesday. I'll be racing the K-3 to Thailand. I hope we arrive together!

The real kick in the butt is that if we choose the K-3, then I'll fly over for the interview and bring Prem back to the USA. She is afraid to go to the interview and enter the US on her own. Then, possibly 6 weeks to 2 months later, we will both have to fly back for the IR-1 interview. That's alot of flying and alot of money!

We are very happy! Peace VJ'ers.

Everyone can update timelines according to our results.

First off congrats on your approvals. Well I am inthe same predicament has you, bu tI am aware that the I130 takes a few months at NVC and so will be doing the K3 to get my hussy here faster( really is a bout 2 weeks to get to NVC , then another 2 weeks to get to the Embassy in Jamaica, and then about 30 days to get the interview). I understand what you are saying about he K3 and CR1 bu twhy don t you just try and get the K3 and when your wife gets here you notify the NVC that she is her and file the I-485?

Desperate, thanks for the congrats. I guess my case is slightly different because we have been married for over 2 years so when she get's her IR-1, we are done. She gets 10 yr Green Card and never has to apply for AOS. No more forms, no more money, no more hassle.
All the AOS and EAD stuff just gives immigration more chances to mess up and lose something.
SOooooooooo, I want her here with me and the K-3 is going to make that happen. It's just annoying that the IR-1 will probably finish 6 weeks or so after the K-3. Honestly, I don't know what we will do. I'm going to see Prem and we will talk about it and we will just see what happens.
