Yes london doesn't keep the passport. They will mail you a letter to inform you if your waiver is approved. They will instruct you on what carrier to use to send the passport back. It usually takes 10 days to 2 weeks i think.
Once you get your waiver filed it takes about 2 - 4 weeks for them to put you on the online waiver list. You can track your case once it is on there.
